Synopsis

Hasegawa Kodaka has transferred schools, and he's having a hard time making friends. It doesn't help that his blond hair tends to make people think he's a delinquent. One day, he runs into his bad-tempered solitary classmate Yozora while she's talking animatedly to her imaginary friend Tomo. Realizing that neither of them have any actual friends, they decide that the best way to alter this situation is to form a club and start recruiting.

That is how "Rinjinbu", The Neighbours' Club, was formed, a club specifically designed for people who don't have very many friends. As other lonely classmates slowly join their little club, they'll try to learn how to build friendships through cooking together, playing games, and other group activities. But will this group of relationship-challenged misfits really be able to get along?

Main characters

Kodaka Hasegawa. Kodaka is the main male character of the series. His blond hair and sharp look made everyone think of him as a delinquent, and was always alone for this reason. When he found Yozora in a classroom talking alone, she forced him to create a club to make friends, as Yozora hadn't any "real" friend herself, and thus, the Neighbor's Club was born. Regardless of the things everyone thinks of Kodaka, he is actually caring and gentle, but a little dense in some other aspects. He lives by himself with his sister Kobato, since his father is never around and his mother passed away.

Sena Kashiwazaki. "Perfect in every way besides her personality, Kashiwazaki Sena has few friends."
Sena joins The Neighbor's Club because, even though she has many followers and servants, she lacks any real friends. She constantly butts heads with Yozora and she seems to be into eroges.

Yozora Mikazuki. She's an extreme sadist, the president of the Neighbor's Club and also, somewhat a rival for Sena, but due to Sena's incompetence, she always ends up winning. She has an 'Air (Imaginary) friend' called Tomo-chan which Kodaka mistakenly asked to her if she can talk to ghost at the beginning of the series.

First episode:

It was really fun to watch.
A lot better than the other harem I just watched
(Mashiroiro Symphony: Love Is Pure White)
which was absolutely terrible to be quite honest.
This could turn out to be a very good anime, although I'm not keeping my hopes up.
---
And for a harem(?) anime, the main guy was pretty... umm.. hott. And not nerdy/wimpy/etc... xD
Definitely watching this for him and the lulz.

AnD so my most anticipated anime of the season begins! Now then, after reading the novels and manga, o am expecting quite a bit from this.

Perhaps I have caught up too much in the novel/manga, but the beginning is quite slow. But keep on watching guys! After episode 3 this should be much faster.
And to the OP girl you are right, this main character is quite a good one. Hmmm I'll compare him to Ryuuji, kyon!, and Kyousuke Kosaka I suppose.

This first episode was a great introduction, can't wait until Kobato/Maria/Yukimura/Rika shows up!

Hmm the opening was quite..... Dirty I suppose, but the song was catchy as well which made me enjoy it too.

I liked how they handled Kodaka's classroom entry, I would've been pretty scared too if I was a classmate. Haha.

Looking forward to the next episode!!

It looks incredibly cliche, but it sounds cute. It looks like it'd have potential to break the norm of harem by actually building up characters first, but who knows? May or may not watch it, I'll see.

I would say low.

This is on TBS, and the only TBS "simulcast" Crunchyroll has had in about 2 years is The Idolm@aster, which is delayed by over 3 weeks. In fact, the only real simulcast I can recall of a TBS series in the past couple of years was TAN's simulcast of IS: Infinite Statros.

Harem, no, no thank you. I've had it with these shows, and I plan to never watch any. Ever again.

Harems,
Shows-with-four-girls-doing-silly-things
Shounen-fighting-shows
Mechas

Those are the four big "NO's." Find me a nice psychological thriller, or a gory horror show, and you'll get my eternal love and gratitude.

Note: Why isn't "Harem" in the genre?

You pretty much just listed 90% of animes there is on the market.....

Why isn't that on the list? Good question. Maybe it's because you should watch it?

Harem isn't the biggest focus of the story. Trust me, it's very funny. At least the novels are. It's one of japan's best selling series, and the studio is great too. I heard this became the season's favorite after 1 ep......

And I'm not sure what do you mean by harem..... The term just means a guy protagonist usually surrounded by 3 or more girls that sometimes have romantic interest in them. So, A LOT of animes can be considered harem animes. I'm pretty sure you mean you do not kind generic harem that have poorly done gag cliches.well, this has promises to not.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
