Can hate really make you successful?
Posted 10/10/11
I got plenty of responses,

All them make valid points,

Apple is a big part of the topic, because Apple Inc is a company people love to hate, it was good talking about it because Apple gets more hate than pretty much every other company,

Don't believe me?

Post a topic about any Apple product, Apple haters are loud, so they voice their opinions about Apple very often, just make a topic about Apple, and haters will spill in like flies in through an open window.

all though these things are true, it is not hate that makes them popular. believe it or not there is a great percentage of people out there that like these people and/or products. im a proud owner of an ipod touch. your reviews may only be gathered from a one way viewed site/sites. justin bieber, as much as a lot of people hate him he actually has a very huge fan base. thousands of people like him (not saying i do) as well as simon cowell, ya he may come off as a "dueche-bag" but to a lot of people he is simply stating his honest opinion and people respect him for that. it just depends on where you are looking.

Hate is a powerfull emotion, it can be used as a drive to become better at things or to surpass the one you hate but it can backfire and consume you.

I don't think hate by itself lends to anyone's success rate; it's more of a personality trait byproduct of being aggressively competitive and acquisitive.

Ray Kroc (McDonald's) once admitted he was not the nicest person, and if his competitors were drowning, he'd be more than happy to shove a running hose further down their throats to hasten the drowning process.

Of course, for example...

Back in high school I had a lot of haters. Hated my guts and I bet one if them sed to themselves that one day they would be more successful then Teddy...

As to Wut I see now, I few of those haters r either way fitter than me or has a good career.

Good for them.

I wrote this thread because I just saw an article on myyearbook about Justin Bieber about why is he so popular when it seems everyone hates him?

Let's be honest, sometimes no matter what you do, someone will hate you just because they seen you and hating is fun and flows through pretty much everyone's veins.

For example, you rarely hear anything good about Justin Bieber or Rebecca Black,

All you read is comments about them being young retards and that everyone who likes them is just a homosexual.

Another interesting point,

Nobody likes Simon Cowell, I heard the guy's a douche and only puts people down because he gets paid to do it, apparently if he was nice, and gave everyone a fair shake, he's be less important, so Simon Cowell is one of the people who no one really likes, and the people that do like him(VERY Few, or so I heard) are apparently in the darker part of the human population.

Another good one is the company that everyone hates.

Apple Inc.

Every article you see will have the classic saying.

"Proud to say, I never owned an Apple product and never will."

The puzzling thing to most Apple Inc customers is. "Why do they avoid something they apparently never bought?"

Or. "If they never purchased anything Apple, isn't their opinion biased?"

"How can they judge something they never bought?"

After searching for awhile through Yahoo and IGN, I come across a formulated opinion from the average of both sites(And my own personal opinion mixed in).

Anti Apple seems to be self lifting to some. They will proud that they never owned an Apple product, placing themselves high above people who use Apple products, seeing them as mindless herds, rushing to by anything with a piece of fruit on it.

Apple users see it much differently.

While at BigAndroidBBQ, I was conversating with this Android fan about Apple and he said.

"Everyone here knows, hating Apple and liking Android comes hand in hand, you cannot love Android without hating Apple, To hate Apple is to love Android."

My friend who is an Android fan said. "The part where they smashed the iPhone was good."

I tried gathering all the info I could and heard more things like.

"Well personally, hate is something that people like to do, people hate Apple, and people hate to feel different so they all jumped on board the Apple hate train so they wouldn't feel disconnected."

That was said by an Android fan, stating he buy products he likes, and doesn't avoid any logo's.

"I'm proud to say I never owned an Apple product? If that's a reason to be proud, they must run a disappointing life."

Which made me chuckle a bit,

Then I thought if the Apple hate mentality could be transferred to Justin Bieber, Rebecca Black and Simon Cowell,

Do people hate what other people hate to fit in? Rumor has it, or just some wacko rumor I saw on iLounge is that Google made Android simply for iPhone haters,

It would be in line of why the Android platform is opposite of Apple, or tries to be anyway, and promotions of what Android does and that the IPhone doesn't, I know companies are competitive.

But surely you seen the advertisement of when the Android blows up the Apple? Most Android roms boot up with a picture of an Android's happiness to an iPhone's demise,

At the Android convention(I even video I'm uploading), Android fans rushed to the stage to watch the iPhone being smashed, everytime they saw an Apple Macbook, they had a negative comment to make about it,

They detested the iPhone and everything Apple,

The Big Android barbeque seemingly had more Apple hate than Android love, and scandalous articles about using Apple hate against them,

iPhone smashing is listed as a reason to go to the Android convention, Or so I heard at the convention itself.

One last interesting note, to get Android fans hyped,

An Android Fan(Singular Fan), celebrated the death of Steve Jobs on the IGN boards, he comment was flagged to hell and is no longer readable.

If Google really is cashing in on Apple hate, I don't agree with cashing in on hate, but corporations will do it anyway.

Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black aren't being cashed -- I don't think.

What do you guys think? Do people/corporations cash in on hate? Do they board trains to not feel left out? Can you be successful off hate?

Interesting point. First things first, I love Simon, he's hilarious. Mean, but hilarious. Now, apple, I don't really like apple personally, mostly because I'm a gamer. It's an excellent piece of technology, but not something I can use to play Skyrim when it comes out. Therefore I'm a PC I mean, I have an iPhone lol... so yea. The android is too much like a mini PC, which I have a laptop and a desktop to do that. Therefore I have an iPhone. Now, about Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black. I don't hate the two young pop stars. But maybe a good tip for Justin, will be to sing about stuff other than love and girls. I know you're almost an adult.... and you're going crazy, but calm down. Rebecca Black, yes the friday kindergarten song... the producer seriously needs a reality check on music. And well you just need a new producer. Seriously, America is losing what music is meant to be. I mean compared to the 90s, and 80s... -sigh-
