Hope they win in the national tournament. I feel bad for the other team on losing. Taichi was such a good captain for leading the team! I really love this anime! They have so much passion~~~~! I can't wait for another week

The anime is so catching up with the manga.

I read the manga first before finding out that there was an anime of this. Aside from the fact that not all the viewers and readers know karuta, the story is great. I was a bit unsatisfied with the manga since I don't know karuta, but it's different when it's animated. I'm looking forward to more good episodes. :]

When I searched for the manga, I only found the volume 3 (translated). I wondered why the manga sites only have atleast 3 volumes but when I searched for the RAW material, I ended up downloading Volume 4 up to volume 15

Scanlating does take a lot of work, no wonder the manga isn't completely translated.

And this seems like it would be much harder to translate than other manga. Chihayafuru seems very idiomatic, plus translating poetry is hard.

I suppose the translators could use someone else's translation of the poems to make things a bit easier.

That really was heart warming and tear inducing. I mean, her father did say "daughters" but I am sure everybody missed it - just like Chihaya did. Especially since from the start of the episode it seemed that her family was all about her sister. So when she found her scrapbook, it really was "they do care!" Well, at least her father cares and just hasn't filled seven volumes with Chihaya since she is just getting started!

In Japanese, there is no singular or plural forms. Subtitle kinda gave it away.

Really am loving this show. Makes you feel fuzzy inside.

Well to be fair, the translator had to use "daughters" because that would have broken the flow of the sentence. I dont remember the wording, but the way he was being translated it would have sounded odd if he said 'our daughter..' to keep the flow of the sentence.

I downloaded the raw upto volume 15 (which I believe is the latest volume). I spoilt myself a little but I pretty much couldn't follow what was going on. Chihayafuru doesn't appear to be a manga you can tease out from the raw. *sigh* I wish I could read Japanese!

I hope so too tbh but doubt it thou. 26 episodes usually mean an entire season to cover all the manga material. Unless they decide to do an OVA or something afterwards.

Speaking of, latest episode 20 was a win.

There are 15 volumes of the manga published in Japan. So, I think they have a lot more material than is covered in the anime. I have no idea, however, how well the anime covers the manga.

Still, this has become one of my favorite shows, so I'm definitely hoping for a new season. I doubt the Arata vs Taichi question will be answered anytime soon.

Ah I see. I haven't checked out the manga yet although I have heard that it generated over 4.5+ million copies sold which = alot of revenue. Hmm, possible season 2 then in the future. Hopefully

If not, I hope for a spinoff similar to what they're doing for Hanasaku Iroha focusing on another main character.
