FYI, both Countdown and Fansub Wiki list is as 25 episodes.
BTW, the recent CR news article about Bleach had this tidbit:
However, it should also be noted that this image is missing an ending mark on Chihayafuru which is known to be 25 episodes based on NTV's website.
Basically, the magazine is question has a mark indicating Bleach is ending, but doesn't have one for Chihayafuru. It is likely that the one for it was simply omitted in error, but for those that like holding out for any glimmer of hope until it is utterly snuffed out, there's your glimmer.

Another glimmer is that nothing has been announced to take it's timeslot for next season yet, despite it being a well known slot.

I'm guessing that only 25 episodes will be streamed, but they are going to add a special episode on the DVD release. I've seen nothing to indicate this is true, it is just my suspicion.

You probably will get your wish, stark700, but I'll be willing to bet it occurs in Season 2. As majestic as this series has become all of the characters need more time to grow before they face off their demons.
