Copy paste from the announcement here

"UN-GO" is a full-fledged detective story about a detective and handsome boy combo who tackle the world's most difficult crimes together for reasons of their own. The profession of private detective fell out of favor long ago, and yet, that's how the young man, Shinjurou Yuuki identifies himself. With his superior deductive powers, Shinjurou solves various challenging cases. Meanwhile, Inga, an attractive young lad, serves as Shinjurou's “buddy”. But contrary to his cute looks, he's a sharp, arrogant rogue. Why Inga sticks with Shinjurou is as yet unknown. The setting of the story is a postwar, future Tokyo that still bears the scars of war. Ruling the land is Media King Rinroku Kaishou, who through politics and industry has the communications infrastructure under his thumb. Kaishou has used a clear head and the massive amount of information at his fingertips to lead to the solution of a great number of cases. But there's an underside to Kaishou's brilliant deduction work, which is that Shinjurou Yuuki, "the Last Great Detective", is the one who actually uncovered "the truth" in those cases. However, the public doesn't know this and thus refers to Shinjurou as the "Defeated Detective". Still, Shinjurou, together with Inga, can't help but search for the truth.

Hmm In all honesty this one kinda of caught me off guard... I have been wanting a series that has a decent mind trip lately with mysteries attached and this seems to fit that bill quite well. I am still confused after watching the first epiosde but It was in par that they threw to much out at once and the mystery for the first epiosde was sorta predictable "given i am a slight expert in the genre" However the art work, music, character design, and even the traits are bit of fresh of air for this fall season.. so what are you takes on this show?

Edit: Well stupid be didn't do enough digging and ti's produced from bones "same people that did gosick" so... eh still it could turn out to be really good. Also this is one of the few titles that has a op/ed subbed.

I thought the first episode was more of the same stuff I've seen done better in other shows. The only thing remotely interesting was the boy/girl Inga. I might watch a few more episodes to see if it goes anywhere.

First episode.

A mess.
Nothing really stood out, except for the Inga person.
I hope this gets better.

Oh and from the same producer as Gosick? This could be good.

The mystery itself wasn't anything special but they rarely are in these shows (Gosick, looking at you) but there is usually a deeper storyline more interesting and important then the so-called mysteries. It was enough to peak my interest so I'll be back next week.

it felt fresh and new and yet a little creepy, cant wait for the new mysteries and possible love situations, this will fill the gap in me that misses Gosick

Wasn't overly impressed with the first episode. It looks like Bones is mailing it in and using third string animators here. I'll keeping watching though. One episode doesn't make or break the show for me.

I usually like mystery/detective animes but this one just didn't draw me in at all. There just wasn't anything that I really liked about it.

well there is one focus mysteries tend not to focus on is WHY THEY DONE IT. I will give the mystery is weak as hell, but the biggest drive in mystery novels is why a person could commit murder or due such an act, if this series focuses on that then it will blow most mystery series out of the water. Getting into the head of a killer and seeing why they committed an act is something rarely touched on... i am not giving up hope yet on the series I just don't want to if the series can truly commit to that then we have a series that's both original and willing to change.

I wouldn't say that the "why" behind criminals is rarely touched upon in animes but its true that it generally isn't the main focus of mystery animes. It wasn't just the mystery aspect that didn't draw me in though.

I was particularly wowed by the first episode, but I'm curious to see what happens over the course of the anime.

For now I'll continue to tune-in.

Some story starts in the middle and this anime is one of them , so the main chracters are already in action, a little is revealed about the main protagonist. The design is interesting, animation is pretty good, the mystery part is not ground breaking but i think they just want to show the main characters at work.

I think I am in love wih.... Ryo Katsuji san voice,is he an actor?

I met Mizushima sensei at AX and I told him I like Gundam 00 and FMA, he gave a smile. a nice reply and a thank you .So far I like his work.

I will watch this and see if there is single plot .. i like it so far.

I'm withholding judgement until I see more episodes. Right now I'm kind of "eh" about it, but at least the first episode intrigued me enough to ensure I'll watch the second.

I do have to admit that I'm really freaking creeped out by the young-boy-who-suddenly-turns-into-a-lusty-woman thing. I hope there is a really good explanation for that, because right now I'm just disturbed and wishing they hadn't done something so bizarre. I mean really. Inga's "I can't hold it anymore" and then suddenly appearing as the lusty woman who went and face-raped Yuuki...what. Seriously, WHAT IS GOING ON THERE? But meh, despite how weird it is and the slight squick-factor of it all, I'm still going to try to stick with the show.

I liked it. It started out slow, but it definitely got better as the episode progressed.
