Seen a few episodes of Speed Racer, and only one or two Astro Boys. I wouldn't mind seeing Momotaro's Divine Sea Warriors, though.

The oldest anime I've watched is with a friend from an old high school and also on tv called Lupin the 3rd wich is way better than Detective Conan in my opinion.

how old is lupin the 3rd

if its older than the dragonball series than lupin the 3rd would be my oldest anime.

i don't count speed racer since i never really "watched" it. i only seen a few episodes on tv when i was younger. but i don't know enough about it to call myself a fan

Well the first anime I ever saw was the original black/white Astro Boy so by default i guess it's the oldest. I grew up on Astro Boy, Shogun Warriors, G-Force aka Battle of the Planets, Captain Harlock...etc the list goes on and on...love my anime!!!

it was G-Force and Astroboy that were my oldest series.
man.. i saw G-Force on TV when i was soooo young. i think "Princess" or whatever her name was was also my first anime crush. not that i even had a clue what anime was, or a crush was when i was all of like 5...
i really should get / watch that series in full someday.

Macross and Robotech are actually completely different series.

Robotech was created from the mashing-together of three completely separate, unrelated series.
Super Dimension Fortress Macross was remade into the original part.
Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross was mashed into the second part. Tho the names are similar, they're actually completely separate stories, unrelated in any way, altho they do share some cameos and inside jokes, as a number of the creators worked on both series. The second part of the Robotech series is also commonly known as "The Robotech Masters"
Genesis Climber Mospeada was beaten into the 3rd section of Robotech, aka "Robotech: The New Generation". Again, the original series was completely unrelated, and in fact it was even produced and released a year before Southern Cross.

As a side note, Big West also produced another Super Dimension title; Super Dimension Century Orguss, with a sequel (Orguss 02).
Orguss was the middle series in the trilogy between Macross and Southern Cross, but, like the others, Orguss does not actually connect or relate to the other two Super Dimension titles.

Space Battleship Yamato is the oldest anime I have seen although I only saw it two years ago. Although the Lupin TV series may be older. Either of those.

Probably Mobile Suit Gundam (0079) is the oldest but I only watched it recently. I've seen some other Gundam anime out of order and finally decided it was time to start with the mothership.

probably Star Blazers or Battle of the Planets (And yes that's what they'll always be to me in my heart, that's how I first saw 'em)

Edit: Actually they showed astroboy and (I think) Gigantor for a while in the late late night on adult swim, but for some reason I don't count those.
