While I thought I had a pretty damn good costume, I won't be participating. The fact that it's based on Facebook votes is a horrible idea.

This is all just to get popularity and get CR name out there and they reward you with a one year membership. You spam your friend and promote the site and they reward you. I hate the use of using Facebook to gain anything and spam your friends to win something.

Two huge flaws with this. Those who have 1000s of friends will win. Those who have facebook just for personal use cant win, so this contest is very flawed and very unfair. Also someone could have a really lame or bad costume and get a ton of votes and just abuse the system just to win.

For example: I could do something really lame and just put face paint on and have 1000s of people vote for me and win. I put no effort into the costume but yet I got the most votes. Then there is the other guy who puts a lot of thought and effort into there costume and spends time in it and does a great job but only gets a few votes because the only have like 100 friends on Facebook. You see where the major problem with this contest is. This rewards greed and not creativity. People should be rewarded for their effort on the contest and the costume not based on just the number of facebook friend you have and only that.

I hope someone on staff reads this and maybe consider the rules change.

Now you get what I meant. Why is it more better on Crunchy than Facebook.

I mean, I play games on facebook, n I see people nearly 500 friends or more that can help you out. But folks who has less friends wont be an match.

Plus some people I know cant get on facebook due to parents , but thank you for posting this.

Folks hurry up n send us your halloween pictures on here ,so we can VOTE ON YOU! Who cares for facebook xD

Your welcome. I just want to make a note that I'm not complaining and I'm to old to be dressing up for Halloween anyways. I just want to make this contest fair to everyone that puts an effort into it. To be honest I think it's way to late to change anything at this point but thanks for the thankful comment.

Also, while I'm at it. I really Dislike the fact I would have to "Like" CR for you guys to spam my account as any group I like just spams me to no end.

I don't use facebook... even at that when I did my profile was/is still 100% private and I don't want to share anything at all, I'm in the job market and too many employers try to use information on facebook against you.

It was better last year when everyone just posted it up on the forums and let the mods pick.

Lets just remind everyone of how well "popular vote" systems work... George W. Bush, Ruban Studdard (hell ANY american idol winner), Justin Bieber.

Your costume could be the crappiest thing on earth, but if you have a large network of friends who don't care and have the time to click a button, you win.

I seriously thought of grabbing my camera, slipping into my costume, and taking a quick picture to upload just for the sake of entering, until I saw the Facebook part. Then I just frowned. Why is it always Facebook? Why does it have to be part of everything, somehow? I personally don't have a Facebook. Not because I hate it or anything, it's okay I guess. I just don't need it. There would be no point; I would only have about 5 friends on it, 4 of which I'm related to and see everyday whether I want to or not. But because of it's popularity, websites and companies are always trying to make you advertise them on Facebook, log in with Facebook, like their Facebook, et cetera, et cetera. It's annoying. If it's a crunchyroll contest, why can't it be on crunchyroll?

It's facebook because facebook is universal
People don't always just vote for their friends in these contests
The smart people actually go through and vote for ones they like
One person complains and then everyone else joins on.
Grow up and stop being immature about it.
Sheesh

Facebook user population: Over 800 million, per Facebook
Internet population: Close to 2.1 billion as of March of this year.

38% is a substantial portion, but it is far from "universal".
