I know that funimation and niconico have the rights to the future diary but how come they cannot stream the show regularly? Does this mean that the new funico partnership is gonna screw over fans because they only have the streaming rights but they don't have any responsibility to keep the fans happy?

I imagine their license for it involves a delayed release They probably have to wait a week or two before they are allowed to air an episode. Funi tends to release steams as soon as they can (which I appreciate with One Piece) but sometimes the deals with the japanese companies involve limits.

When the stuff is available I'll be there to watch it, I'm in no hurry, just glad to have them available to me.

Funimation and NicoNico have the streaming rights to Future Diary. They just got the first two episodes up this week. I expect they will do one a week from here on out.

I expect them to at least be a week behind; since I saw the episodes added on Monday I hope to see new episode(s) to be added Monday unless they plan to add them on Thursday like previously planned to do. The anime is also available on Hulu but have a week exclusive for Hulu Plus users it seems.

Maken-ki, Guilty Crown are also available on Hulu but all have/had episodes with Hulu Plus required.

mirai nikki is a very disturbing anime in which many companies dont want licensing rights to just like how the same producer of mirai nikki are the same producer of dead man wonder land, those two animes are just disturbing and licensing companies will see how well they do before buying the licenses for views

It will most likely be available on Thursday since it was initially scheduled for Thursday.

Unfortunately, I loathe NicoNico's player and site. It seems like their player has two modes, Some episodes it will buffer completely (you can see the loading bar advance). That's kinda nice in that their site is pretty slow for me, so I can let it buffer up then view. But the bad part is that you can't just skip to the middle. If you need to pick up from where you left off, you have to let it load to that point--no skipping. The other mode is that it doesn't seem to buffer much of the show. You can skip forward, but I find the slowness of their site generally means stuttering and pauses.

Also, I didn't see a convenient way to get a listing of each shows episodes. The shows shown on the channel link to a specific episode, then you have to click through to the one you want.

Due to all these issues, I'll just wait to watch it on a professional site like Hulu, or maybe Funimation.

The guy on facebook said before that the other player doesn't buffer at all. Don't know if that's true but it would explain why the one would run so bad, especially when a lot of people are using the site at the same time. Was watching The Future Diary earlier, was stuttering a lot so gave up on it. A lot of people were trying to watch, I'd imagine. Came back a bit later and it was running fine. Personally like the kind were you can see it actually buffering. Never had an issue with that one. Would be great if you could also skip around with that one, though.

I use ch.niconico.com to keep track of what has been added recently. It's hardly perfect, though, and some things don't even get added. It's still doesn't have the fall stuff listed, either. They did have the fall titles listed there but it was only brief, no idea why they switched it back. Was nice since it listed times when stuff was suppose to come out. There used to be a link to the channel page on the top but it seems to have been replaced with a link to the anime page, which is worthless.

But yeah, NicoNico is a bit of a joke as a site. Told them as much on their facebook page. Wouldn't care if they could get videos out in a timely manner but they haven't even been able to do that this season.

I expect the difference is that some of their streams are protected (Future Diary, Maken-ki), while the others are not (at least as of yesterday).

See my reply below for how to access the title pages that show all the available episodes for each series.

The unprotected streams are more akin to a typical user uploaded video; if you know the actual video URL, or use a tool like the DownloadHelper extension for Firefox, they can easily be downloaded. The protected streams are the ones that incorporate a process to prevent this. Crunchyroll, Funimation, TAN, and Hulu all use protected streams, as do most sites that host licensed content.

There are individual pages for each of the titles, but the links to them were replaced by links to the latest episodes when each series was posted, but the pages themselves are still there:

For example, Guilty Crown is:
http://ch.niconico.com/channel/ch60156

Increment that last number for the remaining titles. (Last Exile -Fam, the Silver Wing, for example is "ch60160").
