Does this new CR achievement "Anime Convert: Has finished one full series of anime." make anyone else feel like they are being insulted? I have finished over 300 anime series and I don't like seeing "anime convert" in my achievements. I've been watching for a long time, and this thing pops up and makes it sound like I'm a newb.

No, it doesn't. The badges aren't very important in the first place so why take them so seriously? It's just something small for showing you finished a series here, what's the big deal? Guess because I got that badge 6 times last month I should me mortified? Thought it was amusing, really.

I hardly get that achievement. I only get that achievement if I marathon watch a series but it doesn't seem to come up when I finish watching current series.

Really? Got one for finishing the first season of Working, which is recent.

I don't normally get one for finishing a simulcast series. It usually seems to pop up when I finish a series that already has all episodes available here. I thought that "Anime Convert" was an unusual name for that particular award, myself. But what would be a better name? Anime Connoisseur? Anime Conqueror? "Anime Completer" or "Anime Finisher" just sound awkward, though those would be more logical names for the award.

If you don't like the present name, then what would you rather it be called?

I marathon watched The Mystic Archive of Dantalian- Dantalian no Shoka and I didn't get the anime convert achievement. The achievement is not important but it makes me doubt myself though since I believe that I watched all the episodes but apparently there are more episode still remaining.

Wonder why. Have not got the badge from a couple things I've watched but usually do. Don't know about Dantalian as I didn't watch it here. My only guess, for current shows, is maybe because it takes more than a month to watch.

I've been an anime fan for over 2 decades, have seen countless series and have a collection of over 1100 DVD and Blu-ray discs and I've gotten the same 'achievement' several time but don't really care. I'm not here for affirmation, I'm here to watch anime.

Personally, I sort of see the whole thing as a bit unnecessary. I know achievements and trophies in video games were well-recieved by the fan base, but that was because it gave them something to do after they had finished a game as well as rewarded them for playing skillfully. To gamers, both of those are a positive. Getting a badge that says "Congratulations! You made A forum post!" doesn't really give you the same feeling of satisfaction because earning it required little to no effort on your part. As does most of other badges.

To be more direct to the topic's question, I can hardly say I feel offended or insulted by it. Like I said, I find it rather pointless so I'm mostly apathetic to it. I wouldn't suggest taking these badges so personally as they're based solely on your experiences here and were not written specifically about you. In other words, the person who wrote the programming for that badge did not mean to say you, oldthrashbar, are new to anime and just finished your first series. It was written as a general way of saying that a user has watched an entire series on the site.

I hope TC isn't one of the many being okay with calling themselves otaku because that would be irony.

Methinks you get offended too easily. Try ignoring stuff that bothers you instead of making a big stink about it. You will end up with more friends too.
