1, If you guys aren't going to stream the first season, then this is fairly pointless to do.

2. If you guys aren't going to catch up on the FIVE episodes you are behind on, then this is fairly pointless to do.

3. WHERE THE HELL IS MY SAVERS SUBS?

That is all.

Because Funimation/Niconico already have it (they just haven't started streaming it yet).

1. This season so far is more or less able to be standalone. The only things you won't understand are directly related to Taiki and Yu, but you could sort of brush that off since this one is more about Tagiru anyway.

2. Why wouldn't they catch up?

3. Savers was licensed by... whoever it was that dubbed it into Data Squad. There might be some sort of agreement that doesn't quite allow them to release a subbed version until after a certain number of years has past.

I will wait and see if Crunchy is able to get the first part. Hopefully they will. If not, I will pass on this. Since I prefer to marathon shows anyway, there's no rush for me--and I have a massive backlog of shows to watch anyway.

And now we know why...

From Funimation's premium service announcement, describing what you'll get with your subscription:

Watch your anime in HD, commercial-free. Get Uncut and Exclusive Series unavailable to non-subscribers. Gain access to more than 200 shows and movies. That’s over 5500 videos, with 1500+ in HD. Get English Dubs the same day they’re released on DVD and Blu-ray – sometimes even sooner. You’ll have them at least four to five months before they’re available to non-subscribers. Access the Elite Subscriber forum, where you’ll hear breaking news before anyone else.

Betcha Shana's being saved to be one of those premium exclusives.

I doubt that. It probably has more to do with dealing with the rather problematic Geneon Universal. Keep in mind this is the same company that apparently only recently delivered the materials for those series Funimation licensed back in Summer 2010 (including among others, Shakugan no Shana II).

It is curious, however, that niconico.jp has apparently been simulcasting the series for over 2 weeks now (starting on October 14), with 3 episodes posted.

It being reserved for Funimation's Elite service would also mean Nico Nico reneging on their announcement of it as one of their simulcasts. That said, they are not streaming Haganai, another of the announced simulcasts, at their own site (only Funimation is).

I'm probably not going to watch this. I watched the first Digimon series over 10 years ago and they were ok (much better than Pokemon for sure) but not great.

It's good to read that it can be watched with out the first one. I don't care how old I get I will always watch a Digimon series. I remember that all though it was for kids it always had some deep themes that any age could like.

Well, a lot of people think that it wouldn't make sense without the prequel. I personally think it would because it has a fresh start with a new protagonist, but you're like five epiosdes behind. I watch this series anyway. Sorry CR, but I just don't think that this fits into your fall titles. If you had licensed this sfive weeks ago, then I might have watched it.
