Crunchyroll is available now on the new release of Google TV
|
I appreciate the effort put into this app, but it's useless without access to the queue to see where you last left off on a series. Does Crunchyroll expose any APIs a third party developer could leverage? I'm a dev who would love a more usable GoogleTV app.

The option to select higher video quality should be added in early next year but there is no concrete date yet. This would probably come with a new UI which allows access to Queue and Search.

Been almost 6 months, current version of the app is 0.6.5, and still no options for higher quality, queue or search. Given that this app is on an HDTV (ie: I'm not running this on a phone or tablet), the fact that I'm still getting sub-480p quality video makes it a complete non-starter. I'm still just using the built-in copy of Chrome and going straight to the website instead. Anyway, the story about Windows Phone app reminded me that I haven't heard anything new here in a long time. |

The sound quality is bad, sounds compressed.
It sounds better on Roku than on Google TV. |

This would probably come with a new UI which allows access to Queue and Search. It's now 10 months since that post was made. The new UI appeared about a month ago (currently using version 0.7.5), with access to the Queue (which is nice). As far as I can tell, though, there's still no access to higher quality streams. The app still provides significantly lower quality than the 480p stream from the website. Secondary item: When focus is on one of the elements at the very top of the screen (Home/Queue/History), you can't see where the focus is. If you arrow down, it highlights one of the sub-selection items so you can see where you are, but not if you're at the top level of the menu. This is particularly frustrating since, in order to change categories (eg: from Home to Queue) you had to click and select the new menu entry. So, from initial startup, if I right-arrow then select, it will change to Queue. However there is absolutely no visual feedback that I'm in the correct location to do so. |

I recently noticed that the Play Store on my Google TV Shows this app as not supported. Can you please optimize it or release an app that is supported. I really enjoyed using it on my Google TV and am sad to see it no longer works.

Can anyone get the Google TV app to play 720P video? I have noticed that the video quality is significantly lower than the 720P video quality I get when I visit the Crunchyroll.com website in the Google Chrome browser on the Google TV. Any ideas why the Google TV app does not play 720P video?
