What movies will you repurchase in Bluray?
Posted 11/5/11
I didn't see this topic, so if it already exists, my apologies.

It's inevitable. Sooner or later, now that you have a Bluray (BD) player, you're going to want those movies you love as best you can get them. Let us know what they are and why you'll repurchase them.

For me, there are (already bought).

Blade Runner - Without doubt, the greatest SciFi movie ever made, in my opinion. This just had to go into my collection and it was actually the first.

Serenity - Summer Glau, nuff said. Ha. Just kidding. A fantastic movie which compliments the Firefly series by Joss Whedon. I didn't particularly think the series was that good, but this movie sure s.

Harry Potter - Don't hate me. I just love the first 3 movies so much. The interest here is watching it go from a bubbly, color-filled start to a doom-looking, shadowy franchise. Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite of all the titles, though I don't like the time-traveling bit in it.

That's it. I'm sure, over time, I'll pick up Jurassic Park, but no rush. It's not like this movie is old or anything, right?

Your turn.

I'm going to try to hold out, but I've sort of done it for The Dark Knight already: I bought the DVD and I was given the BD two years ago.
Interestingly, I did the reverse with Samurai Champloo due to its transfer to BD having issues, I sent it back in exchange for the DVD.

got Kill Bill 2 on bluray and American Psycho. They're pretty rad, and i'm hoping to get Clockwork Orange, but i'm not sure what others i'd want on bluray . .

I wouldn't go too crazy over getting Blu-ray replacements for all my movies and such. Upscaled DVD on a Blu-ray player is quite satisfactory for me. Sometimes older movies transferred to Blu-ray aren't that great and are still better off on DVD. I bought a Blu-ray version of a Dragon Ball Z movie I have and it lacks some of the language options the DVD has. What's up with that?! Some that are worth getting on Blu-ray are Lord Of The Rings, Die Another Day, and FF7: Advent Children...so beautiful in Blu-ray...

Downloading Candyman right now. Great underrated urban horror. I have a bit of a technology hiatus right now, so I can only download films to my laptop - pity.

Future plans: Blade Runner, Alien, A Clockwork Orange, Velvet Goldmine.

Event Horizon looks pretty neat on Blu-Ray, too, love it. X-Men trilogy is beautiful. Got those love those.

I replaced my Lord of the Rings DVDs with blu ray. I only own a couple of hollywood films so that will probably be it.

I'm not really a big fan of blue-ray, but if i had to purchase, I would pick Angel Beats! and Fate/Zero.
