I'm starting this thread to keep it separated from other history entries.
If you stumble upon any tips, lectures, discussions about making mots please post info here.
Preferred format would be page, brief description, permalink, but any method that will allow to find it is ok.
Putting the link in "url" tag is not required, although it helps a lot.

For example:
340, necoyama's DO and DON'T, http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-647851/anime-motivational-posters-read-first-post?fpid=34095810

It may be useful for people who can't make animated mots because of file size or don't want the mark in the corner, so later I'll probably add it at the end and put a note near generator list.

Edit: Added.

I forgot, JDRV had a tip for us: page 4014

So I usually don't care about my mots, since I usually do whatever, but I apparently have nothing better to do right now, so I'll just leave a suggestion here for anyone who wants an easy way for making "decent" mots... so here are my ideas:
You can go for something that would be naturally funny taking an actual motivational poster, or some wording that would account for something motivational, maybe some phrase you know or something, Like this which I took from an actual motivational poster I saw sometime... you see, with an awesome picture, you make an awesome actual motivational poster:
Repost:

now you may be thinking "but JDRV, that's not even funny, we're here for having fun" and that's where the tricky part is, you need to get a raw that would completely take the seriousness away from it. And make it a complete joke.
Repost:

Or you can go the other way around and take a "serious" pic and slam a joke in the texts that gives off another "funny" perspective of the raw...
Anyway, just suggestions...

@321agemo I had hard time thinking about this one when I started gathering the tips and I'm still not sure if it should be included or not... For now it's good to have it here. Maybe I'll add it later, but right now I'm not even sure in which part it should be.

well, we can leave it out of this section and add it onto the actual history for now, that sounds good to you?

One way or another it is a kind of tip. Can't tell if good or bad (it can be abused). I just have to give it some more thought, maybe putting some kind of warning with it would be enough.
Adding it as a history entry I'll leave to your invention, but then other tips should be also mentioned, like necoyama's do and don't, first zendude's lesson, necoyama's AMP introduction and first of Miso_Fly's tips. All of them started for some time small discussions about the ways of making mots.

btw, I have links for few of Miso_Fly's tips below page 1k, but not all of them, it's raw material (won't be very useful as it is) and it's mostly covered with zendude's lessons. Anyway it would be good to find all the posts to have additional source of knowledge.

I've added it without any note. In the end there's no much difference between reusing someone's raw and reusing caption, as long as there's some work put into remaking it...

btw, earlier I wanted to avoid putting too much images into it to make the guidebook more clear, but some things require clear example right after reading. For now I put them into text like in the original posts and I'm looking for a way to reduce their size (if it's possible without editing and uploading smaller images).
Oh well... If it won't work I can always edit it back to links...

Edit: Hm... Only possible way is to change "_full" to "_large" in image url, but then it goes from 640px to 200px width and it makes them barely readable.

I'll probably leave the full sizes.

Edit2: I have no idea what happened, but it seems that now images are smaller... And I didn't do anything with them

Something found in first 100 pages... Not very significant, but tip is a tip...
67, Alacran21's basics, http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-647851/anime-motivational-posters-read-first-post?fpid=32938335
67, RoyalRaider's example, http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-647851/anime-motivational-posters-read-first-post?fpid=32939465

And I've started to think about making separate page(s) for the tutorials, like 3D mots, the mot-ception, animated mots in GIMP etc.

Ok... For now I've created page for 3D mots.
Later I'll move the animated mots tutorial from guidebook to separate page and add few screen shots from making example one.
But for now I think mot-ception will be next.

Couldn't find any useful tips on pages 101-300, just the very basics...

dude just go with the flow, all the ones I posted were my own creation and my earlier ones I also thought weren't good, but given time you will get the hang of it. just keep at it and don't judge yourself, leave that to us.

Some more tips, but it's raw material... Maybe few new things can be found in those posts.
