Online relationships? Seriously? It's even billion times worse than real long distance relationship.

Nothing is wrong with it as long as it doesn't get too abusive and illegal

I don't see any problem with it at all, my last GF I met online and it went well for awhile, we even eventually saw each other in person. The distance factor does suck but if two people can overcome that the sky is the limit. There's nothing wrong with cyber relationships in and of themselves, certain people have gutter trash minds and make it look bad but for the majority of people it's perfectly fine. ^w^

I hate online relationships because its to easy to hide your flaws. Flaws are what makes us human and what I love about my wife.

I think people should choose theirself what they think its okay. Myself I dont believe in online relationships, because I think "real" relationships include being together, doing stuff together, kissing ++. Not just seing or hearing his/hers voice on skype/telephone what so ever.

well there would be less fights because they would appreciate it so much more when they actually get to talk and not take it forgranted

And I hate it.
I believe you can initially meet people online and it could form into a perfectly normal relationship. I've meet several people since 09' off of dating websites. However, if you mean dating someone over the internet without ever meeting them, that's a little different. I don't know if something like that could ever work out.

I don't think it's sick but my aunt has one and I just think it's funny and laugh about it.
Cruel I know, but we don't get along.

It's not necessarily sickening, let people do what they want, but I definitely wouldn't. It just doesn't seem like something that would feel like a relationship to me--even if I knew that one day we'd surely end up meeting.

Well, some people are more flexible when it comes to the psychological need to belong. Some use the mental check of "ok at least my gf/bf still likes me" as a factor leading in their tranquil state of mind. Others just do just to do. I personally don't find it a problem, not that I would want to do it as it is a well known fact that the reason people stay "in love" with people is the constant interaction with said person. I like to have my interaction as a physical one, at least for the romance aspect of it. I mean I have made friends online, xbox, that I would feel comfortable enough with seeing in real life and still acting as casually as I do online with them. I constantly play with them and have gotten to familiar with how the flow of interaction goes with us. I'm ok with just playing games with them as it's just us being casual and something that I really enjoy.
Where as with a relationship i would want to get closer and show through my actions my understanding of our level of intimacy. I'd want to not only console my woman, as one could do online, but be able to be there physically with her. There's a huge difference in experiencing the pool than just watching the kids play in it from a distance.
