Do you believe that there is more that has not been created yet in music or do you believe that every idea has already been created and that this is the end of musical evolution?

Where could you predict the world of music heading?

As a musician, I believe that there are things(Genres, rhythms, meanings, etc.) that have not been created before in the world of music.

I predict more genres being mixed in the future and possibly completely new genres being created.

Artists influence eachother no matter what genre so I guess influences combined could create a whole new sound. Who knows I think music was better back in the day. I even listen to things before my time like Depeche Mode and othr 80s tracks and old school rap.

Seriously, I can't imagine any other genres being made. But who knows?

There will ALWAYS be new music and new musical genres, and every generation will reach an age where they will grow tired of looking for it and just sit around playing the same 17 songs they heard in college over and over and over until their kids dismember them to make them stop.

You'll know when you've stopped looking for new genres of music when you say, "Now-a-days, all the new music sounds the same.". You're officially old. You're toast.

Actually, I had nothing interesting to add to this thread. Just wanted to bandwagon on the Spider Man meme.

I think it's possible there are different sounds that need to be experimented with, but I still feel guitar would sound awesome with experimental elements added to it. Guitar should always be involved in music to me.

Of course, but most people wouldn't notice unless it gets mainstream big, like that shitty dupstep. To find new types of music, you will have to go deeper into the internet or go into obscure looking music places.

What? you insist there is more to be created and this 'musical evolution ' can range from anything that can make a noise in this world, and you insist that just because it isn't heard that it will end?
Music is endless, and continuous and ever lasting, part of being human is to have a feeling on what appeals to you, and that is Music.
Music is an art and will continue to have uprisings from the young of every generation.

And for one, music has no specific sound.
