I am completely addicted to Acid Mothers Temple. It's obsessive. I think they hold my attention longer than most bands in part cos they have about a billion albums.

i met Makoto the other day ! he's such a cool humble guy, he was taking photos of the support act all the time. He just toured in the U.S before he travelled here I think..

Wow awesome did you get to take a picture with him or get any albums autographed? Yeah, I saw they were touring the US, but like all-to-many concert tours, it never hit the Kansas City area. I thought about just flying out to one of the shows, but funds are a bit tight for that right now. Hopefully I catch them next time around.

It didn't feel right to get a picture with him .. he was too much like a normal guy just standing near his merch by the door. I bought a CD of his featuring Jojo Hiroshige which he drew some enlightenment symbol on. Ahh I always see Americans get unhappy about being off the map of an artists tour route.. it's usually the same in England.
I actually saw him with KK NULL, but he'll be coming back with his band in October which will be really great. They're one of the Japanese bands that seem to play abroad quite a bit.

I'll have to check out those other artists you mentioned. AMT has been like a paradigm shift for me. First time in about 20 years I've really been able to just sit and listen to music as it's own activity, rather than a "background" thing. I've been looking for more "similar" stuff. It rekindled my interest in Boredoms, and thru Pandora I discovered a couple of way older and less Asian bands that I enjoyed (Can and Hawkwind), but that's about it. I grew up on hard rock/metal, but always liked it more for the lyrics. Then as I got older I shifted more and more towards electronic music when I realized I didn't like guitars. And somehow AMT made guitars "strike a chord" with me in a way that I truly enjoy, rather than merely tolerate. And now, with Can and Hawkwind, I realize guitars have been making good sounds since before I was born and I somehow never noticed before.

For me it was anything in the original Bubblegum Crisis. Such an amazing set of songs that were so perfectly integrated into the experience.

Don't remember if I've posted here already but I got into AAA in September and been listening since. Kinda wish I would've discovered them earlier but yeah.
