Apple's Popularity

This had nothing to do with the topic, you're just bandwagon jumping to feel secure, but it's not working,

What's this title name?

"Apple's Popularity"

And we're still talking about Apple,

And if you were so "Mature"

You wouldn't have said.

"Please Shut the fuck up."

Makes plenty of sense, and comparing us doesn't make you any smarter than you were 15 minutes ago.

The only way to be offended by what I said is if you're so hardcore nerd who uses Windows or Android,

And simply, Apple gets a lot of hate, so someone praising Apple will get bashed, if you're talking about opinion, why are you talking to me then? It takes two people to conversate off topic. But you said. "Aero-Mach" Because you're trying to side with a larger majority, so before you go anymore off topic and look more like a pet,

Either go away, or unplug your internet,

No one likes when pets do as they're told.

A funny thing is that most people do not know that you can build your own mac. Scroll through newegg and you are able to find motherboards, gfx cards, cpus, ram modules, and when you put it all together you can end up having a tower for 800, that runs OS X, that knocks shit down (many of you are shocked!). You do have to buy a motherboard plug-in that allows the mac os to run, but it isn't too expensive. I have a mac book pro, and i love it, and I also have a pc that I built for gaming. I love them both, but I feel a security when I'm my mac that I don't normally have on pc.

A plus side to mac is that I don't have to defrag my hard-drive ever. I have had to repair my library once (out of the 12+ years of using mac), but that was because I screwed with my computer too much. Defragging is such a pain in the ass.

Are you sure it's not just a PC with OSX?

That is what a mac is, it is a PC, a Personal Computer.

Hmmm, right.

I use to think PC meant Public Computer, not really important but I was young...

The problem with threads being started by fanboys is they inevitably end up with flaming on both sides. Yes Apple is popular. No it is not the most valuable company in the world(not even close unless you only count cash reserves). Samsung is bigger than Apple believe it or not. Apple makes solid products most of the time but that doesn't change that they charge a premium for what they offer. Apple is also very ethically challenged in their manufacturing practices. Iphone is the best selling smart phone. Android outsells IOS just about 2 to 1 anymore.

What this all sums up to is there is a reason Apple gets hate and is loved at the same time. If you where blinders you will easily ignore one side and embrace the other. Its just a company. One of many in the world. Blind loyalty to any company only hurts yourself.

Your statement on Angry Birds is more popular and sell more than Mario is definitely bias. Both are different games, not to mention different genre. Although I buy and use Apple products, I'm not a fanboy that boo's or make stupid facts about their own company and everything else. Everything is the same and has their own purpose, you can't play most games on a Mac nor have more stability from Windows. It's about preference and I'm not on anyone's side. Sure, there are others that went off topic but I don't want to argue on this anymore.

I tried installing on VirtualBox and it works like charm. However, its sluggish since it uses single core instead of using all both cores together. Now, time to buy myself a MacBook Pro since the other 7 year old PC motherboard exploded into smoke......

Samsung isn't bigger than Apple, if you're talking about market value, no technology company is bigger than Apple.

It may seem like it, but it really isn't, Samsung isn't a bigger company than Microsoft, and Apple is ALMOST two Microsoft's combined,

And to Jeek's convoluted argument...

You're biased yourself against me because of the majority correct? I am one of the separate entities on the net and don't fit in with huge crowds, like I always say.

"You can die trying to please everyone."

There's no such thing as.

"Bias in sells and popularity"

Your generic argument about genre's does not matter,

Angry Birds is more popular than Mario.

There's no question about it.

It doesn't matter how much you love little fat itallian guys who stomp turtles in their spare time, it does not matter how many memories you have about Mario.

Angry Birds surpassed Mario, it doesn't matter which one you prefer it's a fact.

I prefer(And a small cult following) Arcana Heart 3 over Street Fighter.

Street Fighter sells more regardless of what I think, and that's a fact, Street Fighter is more popular and that's a fact.

Call of Duty sells more than Halo,

Is that bias? No it's a simple fact,

Call of Duty is more popular than Halo? Yes that's a fact.

I'm a BIG fan of Halo, and I use to be a fan of Mario, I still play the occasional great mario game, but it's clearly obvious that Mario in terms of sales and popularity has been outclassed by Angry Birds, and it doesn't matter what a handful of dumb(myself included) Crunchyroll users.

I hate it whenever Crunchyroll users think they're the majority of the planet,

Here's the story......

This is a small, niche site that nobody cares, or knows about, and get the hell over it.

Sure I think Crunchyroll is okay, but I know how NOT to be a snob, and I think a lot of you can learn from members like me, as much as that isn't going to happen and you're thinking up a witty bandwagon to create right now.

iPhone is the best selling phone, Yes.

Android is the best selling OPERATING system.

There's a reason why Android and Windows needs 40+ brands to compete with one.

I think the realization is starting to awaken as I type...

What's wrong with Android? I don't have an Android smartphone (but the people I know who do like them), but I have an Android tablet which I really like. It doesn't feel as "polished" as an iPhone/iPad but it works well and was a lot cheaper.

Kinda weird how you said Apple didn't over price things then you just said.

"And It was a lot cheaper."

Just because something is more expensive, doesn't mean that it is overpriced. I used to have an iPod Touch, but decided I wanted a tablet instead for the larger screen. When I got my tablet I could immediately see the difference in general "polish" - the iPod was noticeably nicer to use, and given that the iPad is the Touch scaled up I assume that it would also feel much nicer than my tablet. The screen on my tablet is also not as good as the iPad's, and it has worse battery life. I could not justify the extra money for the iPad, but a lot of people clearly can.

IMHO, something is only "overpriced" when it is so expensive that the market ignores it. If it is selling well, then it is reasonably priced for its market, even if it is more expensive than the alternatives.

I had a HTC Hero, and I currently have a 45" Inch Android powered TV loaded with Ice Cream and I can tell you...

It runs like crud, it freezes constantly, the Web browser crashes the whole TV, the hardware is uncomfortable, it's not very organized.

Every application you down and try to dual boot with another channel causes it to crash, the web browser isn't buttery smooth like iOS and the video components are lackluster, you can't turn off flash and it makes the web page run horribly and is a memory hog, which causes the page to go white....

It's prone to viruses, the web browser tell you a page is dangerous, and then it boots you off of it, and I'm wondering why a Windows designed bug can crash a droid?

And it freezes, constantly lags when you switch channels,

And don't even get me started on the HTC Hero,

It's OS is a nightmare, more bugs and glitches then a Bethesda designed video game.

Fair enough, though I don't think this is Android's fault, more about the implementation of it by the manufacturers. I have an Advent Vega tablet which is just about usable with its default firmware, but became a whole new tablet when I installed one of the custom firmwares for it (and now I have Honeycomb on it it's a joy to use!)

I think that what your examples show is that before buying Android devices it's really important to read reviews, as there is a lot of variation in quality. At least with Apple you know exactly what you're getting

Somehow with Steve job, may he rest in peace,
is gone, I have doubts about this kind of things related to Apple, though I may be wrong though.

Well, Apple and Steve Jobs come hand in hand really.

And there's no doubt in any smart person's mind that WITHOUT Steve Jobs, the company is screwed,

If Steve ain't running it, it sucks.

Steve acted as the public figure for apple. He wasn't the mastermind behind the iphone 4 or the 4s, or the ipad. Apple is a very large company with many many designers, and some of them designed the current products of today. Bill Gates hasn't been CEO of microsoft since 2000, and it was really only until vista did the company put out a really crappy product (I'm not hating on Windows 7).

Ok, you're 15 so you pretty much know nothing at all about the history of computing and such like so you can be forgiven for knowing about as much as the usual Mac fanatic.

You state that only Apple makes Mac's and if it wasn't just Apple, MS would be gone long ago? You realise that before Jobs came back Apple let other computer companies make Mac's right? You did check your facts before posting I'm sure, so you would have known that....

Smartphone market share? Samsung has a higher market share than Apple in the Smartphone sector. Fun fact, in Japan Apple dominated the Smartphone sector, made major news headlines until you read the small print, Apple owned 47% of a sector which in itself was something like 1% of the entire sector... Overall, Nokia still has the largest market share in total with over a billion symbian devices sold, current figures you see are how the phones current quarterly market share.

iPhone? Do you know the markup on the iPhone (as in how much profit Apple make on each phone)? No? 70%, in other words (as you are 15 I'll explain it to you) the actual value of a $400 iPhone is... $120 (there is a lower markup on the iPad, it's down to around 30~40%).

Let us move on to how much Apple is worth, have you ever heard of Warren Buffet? He's a very rich guy who knows his stuff and he refuses to invest in tech companies, especially Apple, although he has bought $10b worth of Intel shares recently. Apples value is their market value based on their share price, it's a totally artificial valuation of a company, oil companies make more in a month than Apple make in a single year, heck BP will be paying out more in compensation this year than Apple will make.

Apple will not take over the gaming industry unless of course you enjoy playing stupid games that you throw away after 10 minutes of play, their iWoteva do not contain the much needed things we like to refer to as "controls", I'd love to see you play Wipeout 2097 on an iPhone or Skyrim, interesting.

When it comes to the front room, Apple fails miserably. Their TV thingy (btw, they cannot touch the term iTV, they do have a history of stealing other companies brand names - my Cisco uses IOS for instance - but ITV is a major TV company) is an epic fail, along with their console and anything else really, especially in the UK where pretty much everyone already owns a PVR so have no need for Apple tech.

Now let's whittle your asinine comments down even further.

- There's a reason the Macs are the best selling brand

Really? They outsell Acer? Might want to check that out, it needs Apple AND Samsung combined to have a larger market share than Acer

- iMac is the best selling Desktop

Maybe among Macs but PC's tend to sell a lot better, for each Mac sold, 9 PC's are sold, again, award would go to someone like Dell or HP

- Mackbook are the best selling notebooks

Acer again, you should have checked your facts young one.....

- iPods are the best selling MP3s

Ohh, now you're in trouble. Anyone here have a mobile phone which *can't* play MP3's? Mine can (actually my phone can run Windows or OSX if I felt so inclined).

- iPhones are the best selling smartphones

Samsung. Do check your facts before making stupid comments

- iPad is the best selling tablet

Congratulations! You actually got one right! A nascent market place which umm, yeah, Apples share is expected to drop down to about 20% eventually, try again when the market is mature.

- Apple is the biggest technology company in the world

I already explained that share price != the value of a company, some people value Facebook at around $500b (more than Apple), share price is not an indicator of how valuable a company actually is. Put into context, a few years ago Nokia was spending more each year on R&D than Apple was making in total.

Now I'm going to let you off as you're 15 years old and I'm a lot older and actually keep up to date on tech news, I'd suggest you read sites which are not pro-apple to get proper perspective on things, I recommend The Register, you'll get all the tech news you actually need, though with your rabid fanboisim of Apple products I'd suggest a meeting at your local Scientology centre, they seem to encourage people like to you attend

I thought this was about apples! I like Granny Smith best. Bright green and very sour! Sweet apples, I like sometimes. MacIntosh apples are yummy too. I like to try different flavors.

As for computer, I am a Linux user. (Slackware). I use a Nokia phone (with Simbian OS), before that, Blackberry, before that, Android. I heard an Ubuntu phone is coming out soon, yaay!

: -)
