This was an amazing anime, I'd feel sorry for anyone who hasn't completed it before it goes.

It is indeed a little bland at first, but the amazing plot twists that occur later on will no doubt keep you hooked.

Well I need to get to watching the last 21 episodes then. xD

I knew there was going to be an announcement, but I though it was going to be earlier than this.

So sad to see it go. Crunchy, you licensed one of the greatest animes of all time.

Now if only FuNi wasn't so slow at releasing anime.

Let's look a the time line for another series Funimation licensed (B Gata H Kei):

Early July 2010: License announced

Mid September 2010: Online streaming begins

January 2012: Scheduled disc release

6-7 months isn't too bad for license to dubbed release, but unfortunately, we can't count on Funimation being that fast with all their titles.

By contrast, the license for both Rosario+Vampire series and the first Heaven's Lost Property (Sora Sora no Otoshimono) series were announced in mid-May 2010, and the disc releases are set for December 20, over 19 months later.

The license for Steins;Gate was announced at the same time as B Gata H Kei (along with Deadman Wonderland, Baka to Test to Shōkanjū Ni!, and Asobi ni Iku yo!). Deadman Wonderland was one of the Kadokawa titles licensed by Funimation that was pulled from CR earlier this year (on October 9, 2011), so I would expect its release will be coming up before Steins;Gate. If so, one might expect it would serve as an "early warning" of the release of Steins;Gate.

One thing you can count on is that Funimation will start streaming subtitled versions of the series before the physical release. At present, Kore wa Zombie desu ka?, which was pulled on July 16, 2010 has yet to start streaming on Funimation's site, and the first couple of episodes of Panty & Stocking, which was pulled at the same time, only recently started streaming (for Elite members only).

Interestingly, I noted when verifying this info, I noted that Is This is Zombie? is listed on the subscription titles list, but no episodes are present, or listed on the schedule through 12/20/11).

If I recall correctly, I believe all those titles were licensed in July 2011

I'm very satisfied with Funimation's online streaming services, in fact I plan on subscribing to their Elite subscription service sometime in the future.

I know funimation does their best to release their titles as fast as possible, but they have to wait until all the volumes are released in Japan and possibly deal with any other licensing issues.

In short, I just like to buy my anime as quickly as possible.

Wow. One of my favorite anime EVER is getting taken down ON MY 18TH BIRTHDAY. That's retarded timing. I mean, I planned to buy it ANYWAY but still. It's just... The TIMING. It's being taken down on a day that's supposed to be a GOOD day. *sigh* It couldn't be timed differently, really...? =/

Anyway, to those who haven't watched it, WATCH IT. NOW. It's one of the best anime I have EVER seen. You don't want to let it go without watching it.

To think I won't be able to watch it again until the DVD release though... My school's semester ends on the 21st and I was originally planning to rewatch the entire thing over the winter break. Looks like I can't, now... Because I don't like to pirate anime. (ONLY time I will is if it is an older anime that has next to no chance of ever getting a legal English release, sub or dub. But something that is licensed and likely to appear on DVD, I will not watch that pirated.) I would have watched starting like, now, but sadly I'm behind on homework and stuff, and I'd rather not flunk my first semester in college. Finals coming up soon too... >.<

This series is too good to pirate. Please, everyone, if you haven't watched it, please do it on CR while you still can... I'm sure 99% to 100% of you will AT LEAST like it, if not LOVE it. It's an amazing series... Great story, characters, setting, concepts... Everything. Each episode is 100% worth watching... The cliffhangers aren't those annoying ones that are meant to piss you off, but rather, ingeniously done, in a way that just naturally draws you back for the next episode. Really, I can only praise this anime, there is nothing bad about it.

The real world parodies make you interested in the real thing, but you don't need to know about any of the real thing to enjoy the series to the fullest extent. I didn't know about any of the stuff that was a parody of the real world, aside from @chan being a parody of 2chan... (Most J-culture fans who also happen to live on the internet - lol - probably know that much, at least.) But all the scientific stuff, time travel related stuff, I didn't know about any of that until after watching this, and becoming more and more interested in it. I've always liked the concept of time travel, though. I have found it fascinating ever since I was a little kid. After just the first episode of this - no, rather, after just a few minutes - I knew this series was one I'd be following to the end. I didn't regret my decision. Even if you're not like me, and aren't really into time travel and stuff, it's still a really interesting series... Even putting aside the scientific stuff, the character development is great, too. I'd say it's worth a watch for anyone looking for an interesting series. Dropping this series before watching, say, at least 5 or so episodes, is a mistake... Because the series always just keeps getting better and better. Up to the last moment of the last episode... Of course, I won't spoil it. But I think, for that last episode, if nothing else, everything is worth it. The whole series. That is not to say the other episodes are boring or bad, by no means is that the truth. Every episode is extremely engaging. But if you, somehow, end up worrying about half way through that the series will end in a dull or boring way, I'll tell you right now, it's definitely worth watching all the way through, until the end.

I love this series. I am VERY upset it's being taken down ON my 18th birthday, of all days, but I know for a fact that I WILL be buying this on DVD when it's released. (My parents are cheap so we don't have a BluRay player. And I pay a lot of money that I don't have, to get a degree. If I can get the same show on DVD, and I can watch it on a player I already have, I won't bother with getting a BluRay player for quite a while. LOL But I know this for sure - this series will be one that I can always keep rewatching. It's an amazing series and it really won't disappoint someone with a true appreciation for a great work.

If you haven't already watched this anime I urge you all to. It is by far one of the best I've ever seen. What will Crunchyroll do without our mad scientist Hououin Kyouma!?!

I absolutely, positively, without a doubt, LOVED this series. If I had to pick one anime to act as ambassador to the non-anime watching population, this would be it! It's got a great story, amazing comedy, thrilling suspense, and deep character building...In another world line, I already own this on blu-ray and am living happily ever after.

Steins;Gate is a true masterpiece. Every episode made be wanting more and more. I've recommended it to everyone I know to go watch it on Crunchyroll and I even cosplayed as Okarin (which is saying a lot since I've never been in costume for about 10 years).

I've been meaning to watch this series for awhile, so looks like now is the best time to do so. I honestly don't know why it took me so long to watch it, as Steins; Gate was one to the series that I anticipated before its premier. Either way I better hurry and watch it before its too late.

Easily one of the best I've seen. If Funimation does english dub, I hope they don't kill it with crappy voice actors : /
