Hey guys,

We've just added another show to our fall lineup: gdgd Fairies which launches today at 11:30am PST. We're starting with episode 7 since that just launched in Japan but will be catching up with the previous episodes at a later date. This show is available worldwide except for Japan.

Pikuku, Shirushiru, and Korokoro live in the Fairy Forest. They hang out in the forest together and are able to use their magical powers, "Mental and Time Room". They are also able to look into other worlds through "Afureko" (Afure Lake) where they are always overflowed with chatter.

Better late than never. I'll give it a try.

sigh whats with all these 8 year old anime's, wish CR would get more teen/ adult anime. lately most of the animes been for kids may start lookin elsewhere for anime's to watch i guess

I'm sorry, it must have been my fault.

With all due respect, if all CR ever gave us was PG-13/R rated ultra-violent anime and/or anime with various "grown-up" parts, then there wouldn't be any variety around here, plus some people would be turned away. Not everyone wants to see anime like that. Actually, I'm surprised there isn't more anime like this show on here. In fact, I was a little disappointed that Crunchyroll didn't get the Pretty Rhythm anime (like Lilpri, it's based on an arcade game), or even Danbooru Senki (AKA: The Little Battlers). OTOH, maybe one day they will put both shows on here.

In any case, it's actually just as you say: most anime is in fact made for family friendly viewing, or at least the "mainstream" shows are. However, that goes into culture differences between our two countries, and the various issues Japanese viewers have with the shows that air on TV, anime or not (after all, One Piece is intended for family viewing, and yes I'm aware of certain things that have happened in the show, but still). Even so, I can honestly say that even in Japan, anime isn't thought of any differently in mainstream society than it is in other countries. For these reasons among others, I hope CR will continue to give us the variety of anime that Japanese viewers are able to watch, and not focus on just one kind of anime.

As for this show, gdgd Fairies, I am of course going to wait until the first 6 episodes are uploaded. I want to watch this show, but I prefer to start from the beginning.

1) The greater half of the people who would understand the comedy in this first-hand is teenagers and up. 8 year olds wouldn't get half the references made in this anime.

2) This anime isn't made for foreigners anyway. The whole theme is aimed more towards the people who like the three voice actresses, and the comedy has certain aspects of Japanese culture that foreigners wouldn't get a laugh from.

Assuming you have already tried watching this, that is. Of course you have, otherwise you wouldn't make a comment like that.


I also assume (without any foundation) that it's animes like Guilty Crown that cost the most money trying to get a contract.

I wish they could have more out but it is better than nothing

i was skeptical but after watching.... i will be watching again.

Please do tell us where you will get to LEGALLY watch so much new shows as you will get on CrunchyRoll? Also .. USA centric sites such as Hulu don't count as I don't live in the USA

Ill admit I kind of liked the episode that was on it was kinda cute. lol

I don't think getting an Anime not of your majority audience a good use of money.
