If I wanted it I have to upgrade to All-Access Member even though I don't want Drama? Really? How much MORE will it cost me on top of the $50 to use this plan?...

A yearly subscription of Anime-only is $60.
So, even if you don't watch the Drama half, the sale price is still $10 off, plus the $10 credit.
Think of the Drama as a freebie enticement to try it out. It doesn't cost you single extra bit.


As for me... I'm an idiot. I forgot to cancel my auto-renewel, So, because I got the BF deal last year, my auto-renewal happened YESTERDAY! I was just charged $100 instead of renewing with this this years $50 deal.

Anyone know if I can reverse yesterday's charge to get the discounted deal?

I asked customer support, and they cancelled my previous payment.

Nice guys, them.

Next year I remember to tun off the automatic renewal.... and hope they keep offering these wonderful deals.

I currently have an amime membership of for renewal Dec 4 and I just bought this. I'm wondering how to switch over. I need to figure out how to cancel autorenewal for my anime membership I suppose.

What do you see when you go to this page? Do you see two accounts? If your anime membership is shown separately, it may have a "cancel membership renewal" link, depending on how you paid for it.

Yes it does. If I click on cancel membership does it end the subscription immediately?

If it literally says only "Cancel membership" and not "Cancel membership renewal" (as mine does), yes, it does end the membership subscription immediately.

I think it makes a difference if whether you have 30 days or more remaining on your subscription. If by chance you paid via PayPal, however, you could still cancel the auto-renewal from the PayPal website.

I hope they have an anime only thing for 30 bucks or something, not to keen on spending 50 since I just spent like 300 on presents for my family today and im spending another 200 next week, if they had this deal for just anime I would buy it.

Just so everyone is clear, here is how the deal works:

Say you are in Anime Membership for 3 more months.

You don't want to pay $15.00 to upgrade your membership though.

You want to buy this deal for $49.95.

So, you will have an Anime Membership for 3 more months and then after that is gone you will get All-Access Membership.

Only upgrade if you want to watch Drama immediately. Else you are better to stay with just this deal.

Those instructions to upgrade your current membership is for users who want to use their All-Access membership right away. In stead of canceling and losing any remaining days, they can upgrade.

Don't confuse people. You're implying that by purchasing this deal makes you lose days if you refuse to upgrade first. That is the very reason for this thread. Who ever typed the deal did it in a confusing way. It made it seem like you have two choices. Upgrade to get the deal plus keep the days you still have, or buy the deal and lose your days currently in use.

Here is how it actually works:

Say your membership cancels on February 21st, 2012.

Feb. 21, 2012 (Anime Access)

If you purchase the Black Friday Deal you will have the following:

Feb 21, 2012 (Anime Access)
+360 Days (All-Access)

If you upgrade and then purchase the Black Friday Deal you will have the following:

Note: This is ONLY if you want ALL-ACCESS IMMEDIATELY!

Feb 21, 2012 (All-Access)
+360 Days (All-Access)

Note: The upgrade costs $5 per 30 days.

It's not confusing, nor did I imply anything like that.


Existing members may purchase it as an additional year to their current Anime, Drama, or All-Access memberships.

It says right here, if you purchase the deal, it get's addition to the purchase you already bought.

However, if you're already an Anime or Drama subscriber and want to use your All-Access membership right away. Instead of canceling and losing any remaining days, they would need to upgrade. Which is also stated in the Terms and Use as well.


If you are currently an Anime or Drama Member and want to activate your All-Access Membership subscription right now, you will need to first upgrade your current membership to All-Access from the Upgrade Plan page and then purchase this Black Friday offer after your upgrade is complete.

Whenever I try to upgrade it just shows me a new error.... I guess, I can pay 50 dollars then wait a month until I can watch some Scandal in 720p? Bleh...
