America is a third world country.

As History has taught us, any one country will never forever hold the title of "superpower" as they rise
and decline or fall like any other country in age past and America is no different.

Though we may see America will lose it's title as a "superpower" within our lifetime or the
next generation, we have yet to imagine when it were to become a third world country.

It's not if but when it's going to happen. So what do you think on how long will America
become a third world country and who will become the next "superpower"?

It seems I mistakenly type n in America in the title, can any mod correct my mistake from "American" to "America"?
It would be much thanks.

EDIT: There seems to be a mix up on the title. Can the title changed to "America as a third world country", people seems to get the wrong idea.sorry for the inconvenience.

China, Japan & Korea aka Asia will become the next 'superpower'
America is already in a crisis. (correct me if wrong?)

Yeah with all this recession stuff going on and owing billions, its not hard to imagine =/

I can see India becoming the next superpower if more of their cities end up like Dubai. Its just too awesome and the tourism/business is really strong so they pretty much rake it in.

America is pretty far from being a third world country. It ranks in the top five for GDP and has a very high HDI value. With how bad the economy is, you'd think that it's close but the rate of unemployed to employed is 14,825,000:292,181,550. (I subtracted the amount of unemployed people from the population of people living in the U.S., so this isn't an exact figure.)

Zimbabwe is more likely to be a third world country, since it has a low HDI value.

A matter of when... Lets say the year when America loses all hope in itself. Unless you talking about technological advances while we stay behind. I think America itself is doing fine up to this point.

It's hard to say who will end up on top next. Quite a few countries rely on America's success in order to be successful, according to this map: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/interactive/2008/oct/08/recession.creditcrunch

The Axis will rise again, except this time without the fascism. All of russia and northern/central europe will belong to Germany, Italy will own all of southern europe and the mediterranean, whilst Japan governs 90% of Asia. America will feel intimidated and stay quiet in it's half of the world.

Russia and China. But, like I give a rat's ass, I am going to die anyway.

China, India, and Brazil. I don't think China will ever become a better country in general even if they become on.

Although I don't think a single country is gonna be the next superpower. Next superpower is likely to be a unification.

The US are still quite rich. They might lose some ground, but that´s all. For which reason should they reach 3rd world level? (I consider 3rd world as the least developed countries.) There is too much valuable infrastructure etc.
Next superpower? Globalization. ^^

Do you know where the term Third World country came from?

Back during the cold war, the countries that were going through the decolonisation process (such as indonesia), decided they did not want to be part of capitalism or communism. which is why they called themself 3rd world countries.
It's just that most of these 3rd world countries aren't the richest countries at the moment. :x

Anyway, I think Asia will become the new superpower.

Alot of people think America is a superpower and take it as an example, while actually it's not the best example, give the state it's in.
Sure it might be fun to go there.
But nah, we give America too much credit..

Not sure why you guys are including Japan as an upcoming superpower. They haven't been doing so well lately.

I very much doubt America will fall to become a third world country. Not one of the top nations? Yes, but not a third world country.

Asia is definitely on the rise, but we'll see what happens. I know a lot of you in other countries want to see the fall of America, but it would take a lot for the country to drop way under.
