Hey all, I'm here for advice from those lucky guys who have found a significant other in this field or from preferrably the ladies themselves on how a single gamer/anime guy like myself should persue girls of like mindset.

I do live in a growing but still i guess "Small town" so its not like we have a ton of hangouts sadly.
We have: The YMCA?, Bars, The College (But i'm no longer a student), a few hip hop night clubs, and then we have 2 malls, one in door one out door with all the super stores, its called "The Avenues"

The extremely rare times i have seen girls in my town interested in my types of things they are already hanging on a lucky bastards arm, or jail bait.

I'm 29, so i grew up in the generation where these hobby's were taboo unlike the kids these days where it is commonplace.

I am getting really bored and lonely i guess you could say, not finding a companion, the girls i've flirted with just don't connect with me, and i'm sure it is because i don't have any connection to their world. I have been a gamer and anime watcher instead of tv sitcom couch potato and partier.

Instead of forcing myself to be someone i am not, i'd rather try to find the company of a woman who can connect with me even just a little so that they aren't turned off by my hobbies.

Please any and all advice welcome, flame away whatever floats your boat.

I feel you and I commend your attempts at finding the "right girl," keep it up, but I think you're going about it the wrong way.

1. Don't ask for relationship advice on CR, but I get the feeling you're throwing the dice on this one and don't really expect any serious feedback

2. The "right girl" isn't necessarily someone who shares the same interests as you, as long as they can accept your interests without judgement, but more importantly, they need to be able to accept you without judgement

3. Gamer/anime girls aren't always what they're cracked up to be, I'd have my fair share of run ins and hook ups with those types and believe me, it's not all sugar and roses... just think of some of your friends that are gamers/anime fans and how easy it is to have arguments and falling outs on something as ridiculous as whether your consider Pokemon an anime or not, and with girls these kinds of arguments can become both permanent and painful.

4. If you're really intent on finding such a girl, consider moving somewhere there's a higher concentration of such people, i.e. Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, or if you want to stay in the US, Southern California. This is probably the weakest advice, since moving to those places may not be option.

5. Learn how to "Stop worrying and love the bomb" (if you get the Dr. Strangelove reference).

Hope that helps
