Ok honestly I'd like to see how many people are with me here. I like anime, and I watch it subbed (I don't want to press opinions but I watch only subbed because I don't like english voice actors. Drama in my opinion mixed with english = )
Voices aside, subbed or dubbed, I seriously feel like FUNimation is just a bad version of Steam.
Steam is a digital games marketplace.
They sell popular games, while not taking away any rights away from anybody else in terms of releasing games they sell (with very few exceptions).
Steam might seem like a monopoly but in reality most people prefer it.
When a game is released on only Steam, some people might complain about not liking Steam and they just go and pirate the game.
The real difference I'm trying to point out is just the fact that games on Steam cost the same as they would anywhere else or cheaper.

Now, FUNimation.
FUNimation is a licensing company that "buys the rights" to license anime, and removes anybody else's right to show it whatsoever. No Crunchyroll.
This is with exception to Fairy Tail, which airs episodes for 30 days after release (FUNimation has a portion of them on Youtube)
FUNimation usually releases full series on Youtube, but with 360p, ads, and sometimes half of the entire show only in boxed sets (yes that means you have to buy it)
I'm not against purchasing boxed sets once in a while if I really felt like it, but having all other options removed and being FORCED to buy one? No. I don't really like that and I'm not sure who else does.
I love being able to pay $60 a year and watching ALL THE ANIME I WANT for that time. Look at my watchlist. Now divide each shows episodes by (2 for un-go, 13 for naruto etc) and multiply each result by ~$30. Good price? No, but that's how much boxed sets cost. They have a small amount of episodes on each disc and cost high prices at that. I have a Crunchyroll account that costs $60 a year for UNLIMITED anime. With boxed sets, at max that's ~ 26 episodes of Naruto. Yeah, no. FUNimation monopolizes everything, and IMO I think they're just greedy, and they're not helping the anime or manga business (mentioning manga because it kinds of directly relates to anime) which is not doing very well in terms of money right now (at least the expenses are very high and so are pirates(BAD THING)) I know this poll doesn't really mean anything because it's not like CR can do anything about FUNimation, I just want to know how many people agree with me, prefer CR, or just don't want FUNimation there, at all.
I don't know what the chances of CR getting them would be if FUNimation hadn't restricted them, but if we had shows like ONE PIECE, DBZ, FMA, and FMA Brotherhood, am I wrong in saying Crunchyroll would be getting a much bigger crowd than they already have (more people gives more money to producers, and free viewing with the option to pay for unlimited anime for however long your subscription lasts IMO is alot better then being forced to buy box sets as the only HQ option. FUNimation's restrictions decrease to desire to watch anime they have, and again, I and many others would probably pay to watch as much as we want ).
In conclusion, in my opinion, no/less greedy FUNimation= bigger crowd for CR=more money for producers=more happy users on CR. Sorry for the endless rant, but saw the icon for Fairy Tail on CR, and I decided to see how many people there are with similar views.

Let me start off by start off by saying that I disagree with you on more points than I can count. I honestly do not see how you can expect the anime industry and all of its companies to survive with only $60 a year. If we want the anime industry to grow, we need to do all that we can. To be honest, I think CR may have spoiled you a little too much. If you ask me, you sound quite greedy yourself. If you look at FUNimation's price compared to anime a few years ago, you would see the huge price decrease in the amount of money a consumer payed per episode. Their prices aren't all that bad, especially of you just save up for a little while. The anime is not going anywhere, if anything, the price may decrease while you wait to buy it. I for one buy the box sets for several reasons: (1) I contribute a great deal to the anime industry when I buy them (much more than I would by being only a CR subscriber), (2) I can add a series to my anime collection and own it forever, (3) Instead of watching the anime all by myself, I can enjoy it with the rest of my family, (4) I can impress my friends by letting them barrow it, and finally (5) I love the FUNimation voice actors because I think that they are very talented and it is always a blast to see what they come up with next.

I may disagree with you but we are both CR members and I respect your opinion.

The reality is even in a flailing economy you'd think someone would be bright enough to start/invest in another company (aside from Funmation, Manga and any others) which dubs anime. Aside from medicine, entertainment is probably our second largest industry in the U.S. and with the anime generation coming of age or passed it investors as well as hedge fund innovators are certainly missing the boat. I do not hate Funmation but they could expand their collection of voice actors and they only seem to pick anime that is going to break in to the market with a big draw..GREED. But the fact is there are so many good niche animes that would collect great followings if they were dubbed.
Sorry to pick on Funmation again but lets be honest their dubs don't seem to carry the subtleties of language (translation) that the subs do, maybe they should try hiring japanese who can translate into english with an english (native) speaking editor. Overall I agree with Evanjs, but I voted yes due to the fact that I am unwell and if I am paying for CR I'd like the ease of listening to some anime on occasion.
