Christmas is hilarious. I almost pissed myself helping my Dad put the outside lights on the house last year. I've never heard so many swear words go into a sentence

I also saw two women fighting over a turkey in Tesco when I was 14. My Mum had to drag me away from the scene because I was just staring and laughing my ass off.

No, I dont celebrate Christmas anymore. It's centered around bratty kids who make lists of what they want. Then they send the lists to Santa Claus, a creature that does not exist, and he is supposed to send the presents over during Dec 24. Anyways, they're greedy kids.

Shouldn't they be giving instead.

kid: "here mom, this is the list of presents I want to give to the orphans, and kids with cancer at hospitals"'

these kids have their own birthdays...

I celebrate Nativity Day. It isnt exactly on Dec 25th, probably, but it's a day dedicated once a year to the Saviour's birth.

Wow, that's alot of bah-humbugging in this thread (lol). I celebrate Christmas, it is one of my favorite times of year. I enjoy shopping or making presents for the people close to me, not because I want anything in return, but because I want to show them that I appreciate them. It is one of the only times during the year that the whole family can get together. It is a day to share memories, share laughter, eat alot of food, and enjoy eachother. I recognize that Christmas is supposed to be the celebration of Christ's birth and a celebration of his life and what he sacrificed for us so that we may be absolved from our sins (heck I can't top that sort of present even if I tried).
For those that don't believe in Christ, there is still alot of Holiday spirit out there (with Hanukkah and Kwanzaa). Or hey, if you don't celebrate the holidays at all, you can still be happy for those around you - it is kind of contagious.
I will say that the holidays can drive people to spend money they don't have and stress people out for preparations and such - they tend to bring out the worst in people and the best in people as well. I shop online myself - lots of free shipping offers and no crowds of people, terrible drivers, and no parking spots.

Anyways, my family all come to my house on Christmas day, because my husband is a wonderful cook and we know how to feed people. We have the tree up and some garland and lights outside - I think it is very festive.
