i hate how you think this is strange... have you ever thought of this from the other side?

frist that was not my original title somone else changed it and second it is strange to me y can't i express how i feel?? is call the "bill of rights" and y cant u think from the other side and i didnt say anything bad about it am chinese soo if i say anything bad about them is like insulting myself !

i agree theres nothing wrong about thinging something is strange and I am sure we have practices that other cultures find strange. its not like you were being racist you were simply pointing out a practice found in another culture that you found strange. There is nothing wrong with finding something strange wether its in your culture or anothers as long as you arent hating or discriminating agianst a particular group of people because of it. Anyways sry about the long lecure crap lol i guess im just getting so sick of whiny people freaking out over every little thing like omg u have feelings noooooo shame on you lol.

I have never heard of the others but i have heard of the feet thing and oi it seems so painful lol

this isnt a custom i find strange but In my art history class we were talking about color and she mentioned that in India (i think africa too but im not sure) white is a funeral color which i thought was rather funny seeing as white is the wedding color in america .. pretty ironic lol

Yeah, white is the color of mourning for chinese too. I always wondered why the bride wore white.

i heard that they bound the woman's feet so they cant run away from their husband and have affirs and stuff cuz they cant even walk that fast with bund feet so they will just stay at home and the reason it stop is cuz when china was under mao zhe dong's rule he want it to stop so the woman can work

Hmmm... well, the Philippines is the Land of Balut ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut ) and Crucifixions ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/1901095.stm ) (I don't want to post pics/info up because I don't want to shock anyone) They're not that strange to me because I'm Filipino and I'm used to these practices (even if I don't live there anymore), but I think non-Filipino people are going to think these are pretty darn strange.

This may be off the subject, but I just went to "ladies day" at the bathhouse downtown, and I shit you not, it was a lesbian orgy. Apparently on "men's day" the same thing happens (only with men). That's not how they are in Europe or Asia, is it?

Actually, foot binding started when an emperor (forgot which one) had a daughter with a club foot. As a result, he created a new standard that any respectable women must have bound feet.

That would be FGC (female genital cutting), which includes cutting off the clitoris and parts of the labia. It is practiced mainly among certain groups of people in sub-Saharan Africa as a rite of passage for teenage girls.

in funerals and burials, the clothes you wear is either white or black..isn't that a universal thing? and about the wedding, the bride's white wedding gown symbolizes the bride's purity and cleanliness (like her virginity??) - they said that in the show "sex and the city" one of them wore a dark violet dress/suit on her wedding day coz she doesn't want to pretend something she's not.

yes. Women wrapped their feet to make them smaller because it was a believe that if your feet are too big and not nicely shaped, you can't marry to a good family. So basically, if your feet are like 3 inches long and have a nice triangle shape, no matter how ugly you are, you can marry to a rich man

No. You fucking retard. Women broke their toes, wrapped them UNDER their feet, and walked on them like that so they would have smaller feet, because it was considered an attraction in China well over a few hundred years ago.

Though of course a few of those dumbass Chink's do that shit still in some areas of China.

Why? Because Asians are fucked up like that.

uhm.
thank you for that.
ass.

Whooaa! Who dfck said that?! If s/he think that Asians are "fucked up" then you better get outta this website since this IS a fucking Asian website you racist son of a bitch. They're called BELIEFS you dumbfuck!

And yes all of these things she said is true.

Yea everything you wrote is true exept the finger in but thing idk, but they stopped selling teenage girls underwear in vending machins in 92? You can still get them at certain stores. You can also buy teenagers spit and used school uniforms. I know, its gross. They actually have a whole festival dedicated to the penis and have penis shaped food. Its pretty funny
