What kind of question is that?

Of course not!
If you don't want to, then don't.
And wtf peer pressure?

Just cuz your friends have boyfriends doesn't mean you need one. If you're not ready, then don't. Don't let peer pressure get to you! It's up to you when you're ready for a boyfriend, I mean, I'm ready and I have one right now and I'm only in 8th grade.

The way I look at it, most relationships in high school don't work out anyways, so why beat yourself up over it?

No, it won't always happen. But I imagine it's more likely to find one at some point in those 4 years than if you were first entering.

That has ought to be the most stupid thing I have ever heard.

That's just really stupid... If anything, in the long run, high school sweethearts never really last and if you're not ready then pushing yourself into it won't do you any good. It's much more mature to resist with logic than to just blindly follow the crowd.

then don't get a boyfriend if you don't want one. there never been a rule for that. alot of people entering highschool think its a big step in life or something. people begin dating in elementary school now, so i can see why you seem a little worried. but if this is influence from your friends, you can be known as a whore later. so i say play it safe and only date if you wanna. its your life why put it in the hands of other people.

High school is kind of a dumb place. Seriously, as an adult let me tell you that none of this will matter to you 10 years from now. Don't worry about what your silly teenage minded friends say.

Of course, being a teenager you'll probably ignore my advice thinking that "you don't understand how I feel, my situation is different", but whatever. Even though you're having the same types of thoughts as just about every other teen out there (not trying to be offensive, by the way), you'll probably never believe me.
