so being bored at work gives me time to search the web and what not, and in this time ive come to realize, i am never fully a die hard fan of anything, i like anime but in all honesty couldnt tell you what I like about it or give you examples of a great anime and a recap of said anime. Then I see all these people who for lack of a better word breathe anime, and it makes me wonder. "Do I need to be more into anime to be a fan or is my entertainment for 30 mins at a time enough?" I guess 30 mins is enough but my lack of follow thru curiousity makes it near impossible to post any kind of anime relateable information without looking like a goon. I just wish information stayed in my brain better i guess

Its called being a fan and having a life at the same time. Even if you do only watch 1 episode of anime a day, you're still going to finish the series eventually lol. Some people just don't have time to sit and watch 10 episodes in a row at 30mins each.

Having a life is better than being hardcore. Reality will never go away no matter how much you wish.

Think of your anime watching time along the lines of gamers. There are casual gamers, hardcore gamers, etc. The same goes for anime watchers.

I think people are focusing on the anime part of your post which considering this is CR isn't really all that surprising. I'd be concerned if you weren't a fan of anything. If it's not anime maybe it's sports, or art, or cars, or girls, or anything really. It's just my opinion and I don't mean to insult anyone but going through life with no passion just seems blah.

I thought this was about those people on Youtube who say you can't be a fan of Lykke Li if your first time hearing her was in the second Twilight movie and so on. =_=

When you are up to date on a series all that is available is 30 minutes with each new episode release.
In that case you are a fan with 30 minutes at a time.

Want to gain some extra kewl points?
-watch an anime movie. That gives you 90 minutes!

Maybe you could be a fan of "not being a fan of anything".

I'm okay with being an average video game fan. I don't spend nearly as much time with games as I used to. Likewise, I haven't marathoned an anime series in years, but I still enjoy a variety of shows and comics.

Being a dedicated fan shouldn't be equated with being antisocial, obnoxious, or offensive. If your behavior as a fan results in any of the following...

* Relationship problems with friends and family
* Frequent arguments with other fans
* Physical health and hygiene problems
* Debt
* Addiction

...then you really need to step back. Don't cut all your ties to fandom, but take a break. Think about other ways in which you can find entertainment and spend free time. Fandom should be about fun. If it becomes an obsession or a burden, then it's probably best to let it go for a while.

Ditto. But being a fan of food isn't that hard.

No, they aren't cool enough to have me as a fan. Brush it off.
