So they still transform right? if they are transforming what is the difference between that and witchblade? The exception that the good guy doesn't transform? In the end they are transforming 3. Sure why not, everything that uses a lizard as an antagonist is a rip off of spiderman Zetman is a rip off of death note witchblade and spiderman <- now I have said zetman is a ripoff umad bro? |

But anyway as I said above all other stations are over a week behind the AT-X broadcast, and there's almost no way that it would be simulcast anywhere before the first non-premium broadcast which airs on April 11. I understand that for bootleggers its all about the first opportunity to capture a RAW that can be fileshared, but I'm an old fogey, and I still think of the broadcast premier as the premier. So If Japanese cable/satellite narrowcast subscribers get stuff a week before the broadcast premier, and if Crunchyroll gets it within an hour of its actual broadcast premier, to me that's a simulcast. If Crunchyroll gets something three days or a week after its broadcast premier, to me that's a seasonal stream. And @pistolsaf, yeah, I wasn't saying I predict Crunchyroll would get it. Media Blasters seems like its pretty much living from hand to mouth right now, putting more money into anime as money comes in from the anime they have already released, and without a Media Blasters licensed, Crunchyroll cannot promise that the censored streams will get upgraded to uncensored streams down the track. And given what llamaben says on the broadcast premier, the stream likely wouldn't be able to start until sometime next Monday anyway. There's no doubt that Crunchyroll would love to have Lupin III, though I have some doubt whether it was available to license or sublicense. So if we are taking out picks in an office pool, I'll go with: 9am PDT: Zetman 12noon PDT: Rock Lee 3pm PDT: Medaka Box Looks like we were both wrong about Zetman. Viz announcing this close to the premiere, on a weekend and on April Fools Day(I guess ACE just had the misfortune of having to have it today) is certainly unusual(given what TheAncientOne said about their history of announcing things) It will be interesting to see what Viz does in relation to the Rock Lee anime though. I am pretty sure they'll want it since they love to milk Naruto and they are a few years away from milking Bleach dry so they'll have to figure out something in the meantime(maybe they'll finally release the whole of Monster on home video. Although I would settle for them allowing Crunchyroll to sublicense it) I suppose we'll have to wait and see if Lupin III's international distributor is open to streaming(I don't know who that is). I don't see Funico having any interest in it and somehow I doubt TAN would go after it either. So Crunchyroll doesn't really have any competition in getting it. Medaka Box is on the other hand is by a famous studio(Gainax), the creator has his own fanbase(he did create the -monogateri series after all) and is one of the most hotly anticipated series of the Spring AND it looks like it has certain elements that Funimation would be very interesting in getting. I would place it as 50/50 that Crunchyroll gets it. Otherwise, it's Funico's. But anyway...thinking Monday is the next annoucement, and we could see any combo of these 6 anime announced: Rock Lee , Lupin III, Yurumates 3D, Medaka Box, Natsuiro Kiseki or Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? of the Dead (although that one is 80% chance of being Funico only). Suppose Crunchyroll could throw in a delaycast of the Shiba Inuko-san short anime as one of their announcements, but I don't see a lot of people caring about that one. |

Interestingly, although the first news about it was today, the video itself shows as being uploaded on March 30, 2012 (which would still have been only 3 days prior; closer to the start than their last 3 simulcast announcements). The Zetman manga started in October 2002, Death Note in December 2003. As to Witchblade, why not the much older Bio-Booster Armor Guyver manga from 1985? Based on what little we see in the preview, that seems far closer a match than Witchblade. I expect the creator of Zetman was much more familiar with this than an American graphic novel that started in 1995 (as they certainly wouldn't have been influenced by an anime that didn't appear until April 2006). |

I'm wondering when CR will announce their next title lineup. The other series are coming close with Zetman debuting tomorrow.

People are too quick to dismiss shows as being recycled or having stolen ideas from other shows. Even if they are right, it really doesn't matter since it the rare show that is truly original. Harem? Seen it. Aliens pretending to be human? Seen it. High school romance? Seen it. You get the idea, especially if you've seen quite a few anime.
What matters most is how a show deals with its own world. Does it tell a good story? Are the characters good? Is it entertaining at all? I'm quite interested in seeing a lot of the shows this season. Hopefully, I'll really enjoy some of them. |

I really hope Ginga e Kickoff gets picked up today, I've watched the one of the five pre-airings and it looks like it has much more potential than Area no Kishi. I wouldn't even mind a delaycast as it's the type of series that may go unsubbed without a simulcast, which would be a real shame...
Today's first announcement is Yurumates though |

It appears with the exception of You and Me 2 and the two the announced last month, they are sticking rather close to the premiere order for shows. I'm not surprised they have not gotten Shiba Inuko-san, and moreso Pabu & Mojizu. While Gon is on TV Tokyo, it was also somewhat in question in my mind. Regarding Ginga e Kickoff!!, even if CR got it, I have my doubts it would be announced today, as the April 3 airing appears to be for NHK's premium network, while the one for their free network appears to follow on Saturday. |
