Thanks. I may have to wait until after work late tonight to update the initial message, due to other tasks that need to be addressed before I start work in a few hours.

It will probably be close to another month before those start cropping up.

On another topic, it occurred to me that Funico is going to have their work cut out for them to maintain the number of simulcasts they have had for the fall and winter. Going into the Winter it was easy, as they had four series that were continuing. They only needed to pick up two to maintain their number, and actually picked up three, but all were single season series. The problem they face now is that all 7 series they currently have expire at the end of this season.

If Crunchyroll and Sentai are as aggressive in picking up licenses in Spring 2012 as they were this winter, Funico could have a problem coming up with 6 series, much less 7. On the positive side, that competition could push the percentage of simulcast titles higher.

Kore wa Zombie Desuka 2, Kimi to Boku 2, and Hyou-ka look good. Kore wa Zombie and Kimi to Boku first seasons were pretty good so i hope season 2 is just as good or better.

Looks set to be a fucking great season. Apollon, Ozuma, Fate/Zero, Eureka Seven Ao, Medaka Box and Uchuu Kyodai are the ones I'm stoked for.

And Thomas of course.

Looking at the low-hanging fruit for Funico, I can see three series that they have a very good chance of simulcasting: Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? Of the Dead (I don't think CR will get this one but then I didn't think CR would get Another either), Hyouka (Kadokawa property), and Upotte (Nico Nico the primary network). I know that Funi and Sentai will most likely race to see who grabs Sankarea and Medaka Box since both will have fanservice elements that could be lucrative for them. Skyflame pointed out that Medaka Box is distributed by Media Factory which may give Funi an edge(and it's a Gainax series and there is a reason why a particular trope is called Gainaxing.) Sankarea is a zombie comedy with fanservice so I can see Funi making a bid for it and we know that DEEN loves fanservice. Assuming Funi gets both, there's five series. Toei's relationship with Funimation could also mean that Funico streams the new Saint Seiya series and I would not be terribly surprised if they grabbed up Accel World too.

It will be interesting to see what Sentai, NIS America and Aniplex USA each plan to do with the Spring. Aniplex is involved with one of the two NoitaminA series this Spring and I can see NIS America picking up the other one with the caliber of people involved in that one(The Watanabe/Kanno combination that last worked on Cowboy Bebop together). The chances then are good at CR will get at least one NoitaminA series this Spring(as opposed to Funico getting both this season). I am hopeful for Crunchyroll to continue the good streak they've had this Winter in the amount and quality of the series they got. And I also look forward to the competition between Funico and everybody else and Crunchyroll meaning more simulcasted titles.

My methods have been fixed again so I don't think I'll be finding any hidden pages this season.

They may need 8 to keep up with their current numbers. I'm hoping they don't get more than 3-4, while their service has improved recently it's still very sub-par.

I'm not going to speculate too much this season, but I do have to question Toei's relationship with Funi. Apart from One Piece and Toriko what else is there? I'm of the opinion that the main relationship for these series was actually between Funi and Fuji TV, who then convinced Toei to stream the series.

I think that CR's relationship with TV Asahi is going to come into play here, as long as Toei's asking price isn't too high.

Right now Natsuiro Kiseki and Saki: Achiga-hen episode of side-A are my two definitely to watch series. Though Tsuritama, Sankarea, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, and Yurumates have caught my eye too.

Added premiere date and time and studio information for Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden

The time slot for this series is significant:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-02-02/pierrot-naruto/rock-lee-anime-slated-for-bleach-timeslot

The difference between this and Beelzebub is that TV Tokyo has multiple anime slots, while YTV doesn't. There's plenty of other similar timeslots that Bleach could move to - Gintama' should be taking another break so there's an open spot right there (unless Yorinuki Gintama-san starts up again).

That being said Bleach's TV ratings have been very low lately, especially for its timeslot, so who knows.

As it turns out:

While I can't read the original Japanese piece, ANN's article does not state that it is ending - only that it's ending it's run in that timeslot.

A recent television program listing in Japan reports that the Bleach television anime series will end its run in TV Tokyo's 6:00 p.m. Tuesday timeslot on March 27.

Edit: I think the original guide has an "end" sign in the picture, so I take it the news is correct.

I noticed that when reviewing the article (and returned with the intention of editing my reply), but the headline for the article certainly makes a different claim, doesn't it?

That said, it may be different in Japan, but at least in the U.S. these types of articles would also note the new time slot if it were moving.

I expect within 24 hours we'll either have confirmation ANN's headline was correct, or they'll be issuing a correction.

EDIT:
I note CR News has jumped on this as well. Their article makes reference to the "ending mark".

If it isn't true the series is ending, I would expect TV Tokyo would want to clarify that ASAP.

Hmm, to add on to the recent Bleach anime news, ANN also mentioned that:

Shueisha, the publisher of Tite Kubo's original manga, had already announced that the weekly Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden anime will premiere on TV Tokyo on Tuesday, April 3 at 6:00 p.m.

Updates to the initial message in this topic:

Added broadcast time and studio information for Yurumates, added information on Gon and Yuruyuri♪♪

The Official website for Yuruyuri is clearly announcing the second series, but unfortunately, very little of the text is readable by Google translate. It might appear at first glance that the date is June 17, but I suspect that refers to something else (such as the release of the first DVD/BD) as the bulk of summer series premiere in early July. I expect Countdown has some reliable info to have posted the series with an April start date. Hopefully we will have confirmation from a second source soon.

The upcoming mystery anime Hyouka just had some of its first premiere pictures posted. http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2012/02/23/official-stills-from-episode-1-of-hyouka-anime-posted#comments

Anyone guess who may license this? I'm hoping CR since this will be my wildcard if Dusk Maiden of Amensia fails to make the cut.
