Why when i try and play youtube videos on my ps3 everything goes fast and smoothly with no buffering, but when I play crunchyroll high quality videos it buffers like shit? its very annoying, i want to watch Naruto Shippuden on my flat screen in the living room via ps3 not sit in my computer chair all day. My connection does not lag and is very fast, so whats going on?

I used to watch crunchyroll through my PS3 and had no problems.

Try toggling your flash player application on and off. If the os asks you if you want to run application press yes and if that doesn't work press no.

For optimal performance, it's recommended to directly connect an Ethernet cable to your PS3 instead of using WiFi since WiFi for the PS3 severely limits the speed of your internet connection. Also it is recommended to watch the videos in SD since the PS3's browser has problems streaming our 480P and 720P videos. With 480P it is watchable but the video will skip frames. 720P is unwatchable last I checked.

i tried 480p without putting the Ethernet cable in and it did work, if i plug in the Ethernet cable with the 720p streaming will it work?

Last I checked, 720P streaming does not work through our site due to the PS3's poor support for Adobe Flash and web browsing in general.

For a more consistent and quality streaming experience, we'll need a dedicated app for the PS3 like Netflix and Hulu has. If and when we are able to provide an app for PS3, we will post about it in the following thread:
