Hey! sexy. I love it! hehehe! It makes me feel sad when other people are complaining about Asian's accent and all. To other whites it doesn't really matter with them, as long as they're getting the main point is that's fine. Oh well, for the matured ones, hahaha!

This was interesting until you people started fighting. I don't agree with any of you, because I think some actors really suck when they speak english, and others don't. But I do agree that most of the time, when they bring in an american or english or wathever, the acting is bad (must be tough to find someone like that, not that there aren't any foreigners in Asia but still).

What annoys me the most is how ppl cannot have a talk and discuss with relevant arguments without being aggressive and sticking to irrelevant details, like spelling. And when someone posts something, giving there opinion, don't take it personnally against you or your own drama world.

One thing I do get is why the first person got angry. Would you expect him be happy after being insulted?

But please stop the "boohoo" and "blah blah blah". I don't know how old you are, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be saying that if you want your opinion to get through, don't act childish.

And sorry if I mispelled something, or if my English is not perfect, because I am FAR from being fluent as I am not English but French. So please stop with the spelling debate, you can never know who the other person is and if according to his/her life, his/her English should be better.

Hope you won't get angry for everything I just said, because I didn't mean to offend anyone

LOL. I wasn't specifically talking about you in the war topic... But it really is like a war in here. LMAO. Yea... I guess the accents can be improved but it is hard for people who aren't familiar with the sounds in English... like my mum... there are some sounds she just can't pronounce... because she's never had to pronounce it so it's hard to suddenly have to say it... but it's fine, as long as they tried their best. Nobody's perfect.

it depends, in chinese dramas, it's very sporadic, and sometimes it's cute, sometimes it pretentious...in japanese dramas you hardly see the difference coz they "katakanize" it, so the flow is still smooth, filipino dramas are the worst, like half of the dialogue is in english, and half in tagalog. it gets real annoying.

Why did this discussion turn into an argument?
Everyone has their own opinions and forums are meant for discussion of those opinions, not random bashing about spelling.
Anyways in response to the topic the drama Love Story in Harvard immediately popped into my head
I was so excited to watch it when it first came out b/c i love the actors and all but the horrible English just ruined it for me.
I could tell that they were really struggling with the pronunciation and I appreciate their efforts but it ended up affecting the quality of the acting and the mood of the drama as a whole.
I also find that in most dramas they think that its "cool" when a person can speak English. Especially in TVB ones b/c knowing English means that your rich enough to go to school abroad. So I suppose their trying to convey a certain type of character by adding English lines.
I've gotten use to the random English. Sometimes its actually pretty cute (like Jiro in Hana Kimi)
but other times its still too much like in Love Story in Harvard
oh well its not like im the one writing the dramas
i juss watch them =)

oh wow.
in my opinion, its alright for them to speak in English, after all English is like the most common language used in every country. i mean, what the heck, we're all typing in English even if we're French, Chinese, or whatever right?
so it ain't that wrong for the speaking part.
other people just want to understand other language better or something.
like if you're learning other languages such as Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French or something, in their opinion we are speaking "weirdly" too. because it isn't what we grow up to speak of.

okay, i'm starting to crap. so if you all understand what i mean is all that matters.
if not. screw me

I wasn't complaining... but getting rid of an accent is hard... Some people are talented in the language area and for them it would be easier but not everyone's born with that talent. And I'm not saying we shouldn't give them that chance to impove... everyone should get some chance, but not every single person can speak perfect english. Supporters should be happy with what the actors can do and accept that there are things they can't do. They are just actors. I sound like a philosopher. LOL.

P.S. Just so you don't misunderstand. I'm not saying that you don't accept that there are things actors can't do... And I'm not saying that no asian actor can speak good english...

Peace ok?

Well, I have noticed there are many dramas in which the actors/actresses speak in english. I don't really have a problem with it, whether they speak it well or not. It doesn't annoy me because I know if I tried to speak in their language I wouldn't sound perfect either.

Remember it's not as if the actors/actresses decide to speak in english, (well most of the time anyway.) They do have scripts and they follow them. Besides there are some that speak english really well. It's a drama and we should enjoy it for the storyline, cast etc. and not focus too much on the ability of someone talking in a language that they probably don't speak.

P.S. Lol, quite a 'discussion' going on in this thread..
