Unfortunately I have not much of a clue about architecture, so I can't think of any particular building, but I always thought the Shanghai skyline was nice

Maybe I'll think of something more interesting later

Yay!! Finally a topic I can really relate to! My favorite mag to read is hands down http://www.dwell.com . Not only do they Showcase up and coming design houses and architects, they also are concerned about green design. Being involved with urban renewal myself, and just recently picking up the latest issue dealing with a modern renovation in Harlem gives me hope that two period of architecture can coexist in one structure without looking like some malformed infant.

What really is interesting to me at the moment is modern prefab houses. Not only does it cut down on construction time, it also cuts down a significant amount of money that goes into building a new structure. To any one that becomes a first time home buyer, this process can be a nightmare.

i hope this thread survives a little longer
with all that candy,virginity,..etc.threads.

normally i am more into "conservative"
architecture but i like those two,
which are very similar:

the Torre Agbar building in Barcelona by jean nouvel:

and the 30 St Mary Axe in London by Sir Norman Foster:

walt disney music hall in LA.. my favorite building in LA.. designed by frank gehry

wen u walk thru the building, its like the walls are engulfing u.. and from every angle.. goin up n down the stairs and walking thru the pathways, it looks amazing.. i was constantly being amazed the whole time i was there.

oh, wow, that's in LA?!? i should go check it out after i go home from my vaca.
Suprisingly, you know what that reminds me of?!?
It reminds me of one of the ep from "The Simpsons" when Marge wrote a letter and asked an architecture to build a concert hall for their town. and he crumbled the paper and made the building like it. but uh yeah ^_^

i love architecture, studing CAD. i took a class in high school and loved it. I wanted to major in it, but, i don't have enough self confidence in myself. and i heard that when you took the final test for it and you fail, you have to wait again the next year to take it again. so ^ ^;;

This is a Science Centre, i think in Spain

Great architecture is a balance among function, form, and aesthetics.

Post of the minute, geodesic architecture.
