I think I'd be too lazy to bother with this stuff, but it'll be wicked workout. I've thought about joining before...I wonder...

I've thought about joining before...I wonder... unless you do army infantry or the marines, the workout pretty much ends when you finish your training. i actually gained a ton of weight in the military since all i did was eat bad food at the chow hall and drink tons of beer. when i got out, i lost around 50 lbs since i started a healthier lifestyle. |

the military is a great thing. there aren't many places you can become an endorsed killing machine for your government. anyone that says it is a waste of time just had a shitty job. it's all about what you want to do. i am in the army, and there are tons of stuff you can do as a part of it. as for me...it's all about being on the frontline. someone has to do it...might as well be the people that want to go.
on top of having the best toys in the world, we are actually extremely well taken care of. someone right out of highschool with no sense of direction yet could probably...more than likely...benefit from some service time. you have a job, you don't have to worry about insurances (ie medical, dental), and you can go pretty much anywhere in the world on the government's dollar. it's not just about dying for your country. it can be about protecting those you love. so that things like pearl harbor and 9/11 won't happen to those you care for. you should join for your own reasons, be it national pride, protecting those you love, the thrill of battle, you doing it so those you love don't have to. it's not an easy decision. good luck. |

you better either have friends in high places or be the hottest shit known to man in all areas fathomable. a lot of people want that job so they can be very very picky. Well, it's not like you disappear from the face of planet during that time. I don't know what he did, but the four years I spent in the military were more action packed than any of the 21 years I've been a civilian. Granted, it's the earlier years that are the most exciting. They eventually conspire to put you behind a desk and I'm guessing he bailed right before that happened. |
