(no offense intended. its pretty much in the contract to give all other branches shit, and know that they will give it back to you just as hard...and for the record, my best friend is in the navy)
I got out fairly recently, had an interesting few years in, spent time on multiple continents and in a combat zone. There are many good, and many bad things about joining up, but I would urge anyone who is interested to follow through, it really is a great experience.. (but, dont believe anything your recruiter says unless you get it in writing, and signed. i swear, some of those guys are used car salesmen on the side.)
yo which branch was you in? hahaha sounds like somebody got jipped w/ the contract. it really is a great experience. plenty of miserable times but it can either break you down or make you stronger. either way, you'll get through it one way or the other.

I don't think I'll ever go in the military. If I'm ever sent to war, it isn't going to be all fun and games. Being in battle is a harsh thing; you'll never really be the same after that.
It's a fact that when a soldier retires, he/she either becomes a workaholic or an alcoholic because even though being up front is dangerous, it's exhilarating and the soldiers get addicted to that feeling, ya know?

In here if you don't go to military you go to jail.. (There's another option though, 'sivilian service' or something like that..)
And I'm going there when I turn 18 - 1 ½ years left..
