The design of the site is probably one of the reasons I come here to talk about anime as well. I just find other forums like Funimation, MAL, and ANN to be too plain. It's also very easy to navigate through this site.

I hate the Funimation website. Way too slow!

So, you're saying that you may or may not get the second season of Kore Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? although CR has simulcasted the first season? That's quite a pity though. I hope that CR can secure the simulcasts although I don't really mind the delay.

About the deal, NicoNico deal with Kadokawa WILL be an utter failure since they get a fraction of the viewers compared to simulcasting on CR since CR can reach a wider audience and many people are familiar to this site. The shows on NicoNico are available in the US and Canada while most of Kadokawa titles simulcasted before on CR before are available in most countries, thus reaching more viewers and more revenue per show. Although Fate/Zero on NicoNico is available worldwide, the site is in Japanese and it's not available even on the US site. I bet a few seasons later, they will feel the impact and hopefully go back to CR. Bear in mind the deal has affected CR greatly since majority of shows are from Kadokawa.

I think it has to be considered a possibility that might not get the second Kore Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? series, but as I said, it all depends on the terms of the contract from when they had the original series. If I had to bet, I would say they would have it, but so will Funico.

Since NicoNico.com is a Japanese enterprise, they likely won't be as quick to give up on it as an American company would be. I expect even if it trundles along with low viewership, it would probably take at least two years before they think about pulling the plug. Stretch that out even longer if those viewership numbers show continual increases, regardless of how miniscule.

In the premium member forum last month in a topic about Funico, BasouKazuma stated:

Anyway, even before this Funico thing, we were already working on something that will put us one more big step ahead of them. Can't say what but this one thing will pretty much secure Crunchyroll as the place for Anime online.

When asked later about a time frame, he stated:

Probably won't be announced until Q1 2012, at the earliest.

At the very least, it will be interesting to see what that is.

Yeah, I read that too and it certainly got me excited for the plans they have in store. New partnerships? New series? New platforms?

Do you have any ideas about this? I speculate it might be IPTV channel for Crunchyroll, but I could be wrong......

I'm hoping for new partnership(s) myself (which would translate to new series), but getting an app on the XBOX 360 or PS3 would definitely put them in a lot of homes.

Just announced that Steins; Gate OVA episode is coming out as result of volume 9 of the series:

To celebrate the forthcoming ninth and last volume of the series on Februrary 22nd, the volume will include an extra episode that will deal with Kurisu leaving Japan and going back to America, which may serve as a bridge for the movie that's also slated for next year.

Now, I seriously can't wait for the movie

The trailer is out - copying my post from ANN and editing it a bit.

OVA preview

General plot overview

- Feris invites everyone on a trip to America ( she has a convention to go to in LA)

- The scene in the PV video with Okabe at the airport takes place in LA (most likely LA X given that well it’s a flight from Japan)

- Kurisu is in Arizona

- Meaning the reason why Okabe is running must be because he need to get from LA to Arizona somehow / he / the group runs in to trouble.

- The main focus of the OVA is about Okabe and Kurisu and their relationship and what will become of it.

- The OVA takes place somewhere after September but before the events in the After story mini-novel in December.

Damn it! You got my hopes up thinking it was recently release. I have to wait till February now, ugh!

The trailer was pretty funny though, Okabe seems to have been arrested. I can imagine Okabe saying I am mad scientist. It's so cool! Sonnuvabitch. in that situation.

O nice, thanks for the plot overview. Yes, I was disappointed a bit too when I saw the actual release date but for Steins; Gate..I can wait.

I bet Okabe gets himself arrested for saying something he wasn't supposed to in English like the "Sonnuvabitch"part LOL. If it's based on their relationship, I bet Okabe is going to invent some new nicknames for dat zombie.

It is ironic that the Japanese would want to combat piracy but end up having various shows on CrunchyRoll get the license expired. That is, for whatever they decide to do this, a show losing it's CR license means that we resort to going to fansub sites if we wanted to watch it again.

The reasoning is strictly due to Funimation obtaining the rights for Steins;Gate. You can still watch it legally, you just might have to pay for it.

Alright, however, I am standing with my statement when it comes to other series going away like Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu and its second season.
