Interesting issue. It also depends on what the owner/creator of the anime wishes. Technically I believe that the older or non continuing anime should go free license or something after a set period of time to be fair. In terms of legal anime that has been aired, it should be offered as Bluray/DVD box sets on request if not on shelf. This will sub due piracy especially if the price is fair.

"I am happy to pay £5 for 5-10 episodes on one disc but not £30."

Ideally there should be large organisation, which holds all the anime in one place. And people can purchase at fair price for them on disc after watching first few episodes streamed to get a taster.

Copyright Rights usually tend to end 50 years after the copyright has been established (that's the global average), although recent moves in the United States have urged that Copyright Rights be extended past this limit.

Obviously you have no concept of copyright laws.

The argument's obviously a lot more complex than this, but legally, a license allows a person that can do something which is not normally permissible in the law. Not having a license means that your activity is not permitted by the law. In other words, it's not legal, or illegal.

Therefore unlicensed activities are activities which are illegal.

Unlicensed animes are animes which are being illegally distributed without the consent of the licensor.

Thereby illegally infringing on their intellectual copyrights.

We don't talk about hosting licensed or unlicensed anime.
