D.N. Angel...THEY JUST STARED AT THE SUNRISE FOR TEH ENDING! >.< Yup what an interesting ending.
xxxhoic...I think it didn't really satisfy much because the last episode was just about a ghost that got Watanuki sick and how he got better...then BAM! end of episode...not even a next one!...not much if you ask me...
I agree with Soul Eater too...It was rushed a bit there. ;p

I've been disappointed by many anime endings but the one that just crossed my mind was Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai's ending which I recently watched.
Well, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai was disappointing in general compared to Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni which seemed epic but the ending was the worst thing ever , considering it didn't fit a horror / mystery masterpiece whatsoever as it reminded me of endings mostly seen in anime intented for kids, stupidly cheerful and not dramatic whatsoever ^^

You guys ever seen Alien 9, it's ending was so damn ambiguous, and sad at the same time, because it only went HALFWAY through the manga, even though the manga ended 3 years before that. The only way you could know about it is if you look up the director of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Same thing fof D Gray Man . I was upset where it ended and then I found out Hoshino sensei got very very sick ,thats why the manga stopped. But now he is back , I do wish they contunue making the anime. It was epic

The one anime that is driving me nuts because its not ending yet when it should be is Bleach, I feel Kubo sensei is really trying to stretch the story. The new arc is pretty good but what can he do after that.Make Aizen escape?
.

D Gray Man was my first long shounen series... not having seen bleach or one piece yet I didn't think these shows were supposed to just go on forever. In fact the one thing I had always liked about anime is that shows end and you have some sort of conclusion and can move on to the next. Although Gray man was one that I watched in the matter of a few days and it was really disappointing at the end and then read that it stopped since the manga had stopped. It just left me wanting more, and I'll probably start reading the manga from the point the anime ended since I don't think it will get picked up again.

I've come to accept shounen shows and their never ending plot lines but I do agree with you that Bleach probably should end sometime. I love One Piece, and the transition between one expansion of the show to the next seems natural, like it was all planned out from the very start. Like the layers of an onion getting exposed, it's part of it, and you don't really see the next layer till the top one is peeled off, but it seems like it fits. Bleach seemed to me like the Aizen arc was it, and someone told Kubo, keep going, and he's kinda forcing it.

In short what I don't like is shounen shows that run too long or ended too early... and harems where he picks no one.

I do however like shows that end with more questions than answers and lots of unfinished business. I find that too many times the answers that could be given would be far too simple and kinda ruin the fun and mystery it would be to guess at what happened or how something worked.

Any anime where you aren't sure if that was really how it was supposed to end, or if the series just simply got cancelled half-way through.

Yes!!! Eureka seven's ending sucked! I'm hoping they'll fix it in the upcoming sequel

Not concluding it and not making a sequel.

Really open endings like DTB 2. Seriously? How many fans took that as the franchise's ending? It's not even a matter of liking or disliking the bloody thing, it was just a matter of:
Creator: "This is my ending, fuck you."
Fan 1: "Okay. " "Fan 2, what exactly just happened? "
Fan 2: I dunno LOL

I think the most disappointing ways to end an anime is how most harem animes end their shows. I love harem anime but it always ends the same. The guy picks his girl of choice that he has pretty much been paying attention to since the beginning but they're all still living together and the other girls are still trying to get his attention and things like that. It annoys me its like he doesn't want you guys he wants this girl.

This bothered me the most in Ai Yori Aoshi. I mean Aoi and Kaoru were engaged to be married but they still had to act like landlord and tenant because the girls wouldn't leave. Also the show Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka pissed me off because the dude picked his sister over the other girl but the other girl still stays in the house to watch over them to make sure they don't do anything dirty? Who does that? I mean no character ever seems to focus on their relationship they focus more on their friendships. The only anime that ever seemed to get away from that was this other one whose name I can't remember where they show everyone years into the future and you even see the brother and sister that ran away together back in town holding hands.

Another way that disappoints me is not really showing what eventually will happen to the characters. It seems like almost every anime does that. It just leaves it kind of open ended for the possibility of more. I don't know if anyone will ever date or get married or die or anything like that. Listen to me girls I'm your father had a huge open ended ending unless that anime is going to continue.

Finally a bad ending always leaves a whole bunch of questions unanswered. Kind of like leaving it open ended except there is way less closure than an open ended ending.

Soul Eater.

How. Pathetic.

And somewhat related to the above poster's comment.

I dislike in harem anime with they drive the focus on a more secondary potential candidate who is more suited for the main character and they end get side-stepped. If you're going to make a focus, keep it. Annoys me to all ends.

Hi So I recently saw the anime Skip Beat and I thought it was one of the greatest anime ever. However, it was the worst conclusion I have seen to an anime in a long time. That's why I was inspired to create this forum topic.

So I'm curious to know about your opinions. What anime do you think had a very disappointing or crappy last episode?

Soul Eater. The show got really good in the middle, but in the last volume (of the dvds) the story feels so rushed and nothing makes sense. In the last episode, Death the Kid gets a weird power that is not mentioned previously and is not explained afterwards. I only figured out what it was when I read the manga. Maka defeats the kishin because she is courageous. That's it. That was the entire end. It was no where near the epic conclusion that I hoped would happen.
Claymore should also be on this list. They know what they did wrong.
Someone else mentioned Requiem for a Phantom, which was absolutely the worst ending EVER!!!

Eureka 7 started off good. I enjoyed it but by the last season I was like WTF??? All of this weird shit started happening and the anime didn't do a good job of explaining it either. I was just confused and not really following. It became way too complex for me. But at least the two ended up happily together so I was somewhat satisfied.
