Its body image related disorder. People who have it fear gaining weight and they basically starve themselves. I've never had nor have i known anyone who've had it before

The link separates anorexia (lack of interest in foods) from anorexia nervosa (obsession with losing weight).

I guess under that definition, I'd have anorexia, since I don't have much interest in eating. But it was brought about due to the fact that I'm very prone to stomachaches. When food makes you hurt, you learn to get by with eating as little as possible, until finally you really no longer have much of an appetite. I've been borderline underweight for over a year now. But it's stayed steady. I'm not dangerously underweight, and I hope never to be. (Especially since it's pretty cold where I live, and I hate not having any "natural insulation!")

I remember seeing at least one anorexic person. She was this lady who was so thin, she looked like a walking skeleton. You could see the definition of her teeth through her cheeks. It was kind of scary for me (I was pretty young).

To you all who feel too fat: I've met and known sooo many wonderful people who would be classified as "chubby" if not "overweight." Growing up, there was this one lady who I knew, and she was my idol. She was talented, and had a vivid personality. She was also very overweight. But that didn't matter. Personality did. And I've met tons of thin people with ratty personalities.

Pretty =/= Thin

I'd rather be friends with a nice, overweight person than a bratty, skinny one.

I know it can come in phases and doesn't have to last long. I have had periods a few months long at a time where I would be scared to eat anything at all because I thought I was doing myself a favor (low self esteem) and then when my body would just about give in I start eating excessive amounts of food. There are different kinds of anorexia.
