Nothing special, keep them on my book shelf, wash my hands before hand, and if im going somewhere I place it in my backback or just carry it around or something. Oh and keep them away from my brother and father! with brother they'll be destroyed in seconds, and father will bend the spine *shiver*

Might buy some protective cases eventually, though they'll be pretty pointless by the time I do xD Need to keep my Manga in better condition...

They sit on a shelf after i read them. I try not to bend anything like the spine or the pages. Even the bookmarks i use arent thick enough to damage the pages.

One of my OCD's is keeping my manga in perfect condition.
I don't want to go overboard and be a freak about it , so I just
keep them on a shelf and try to not damage them when I
read them and carry them around.

I don't protect mine at all I keep them in a book shelf, but when I am reading them (or the ones that don't fit on the shelf), they're just piled up nicely. My cat doesn't go near them ever (so no need to worry about that) and I don't have any siblings, so most of the time, they are in perfect condition

To protect my manga I just make sure to keep them out of direct sun so the covers don't fade and I read them pretty gently (no opening them up all the way flat or anything). I'd probably never use protective sleeves or boxes because I like the conveniece of just going up to a shelf and pulling out a book.

I used to keep them on the shelf of my desk unit, only I eventually got too many tokubans for it so I put them on the bookcase instead.

Funny thing is that the bookcase is very deep, so I placed the books I had there original in front of the manga. Thus they're protected by sunlight & hidden from my bro. I don't mind him borrowing, he just doesn't care about wears and tears. I on the other hand want them to remain as fresh as possible. I learnt from experience that tears and other accidents happen. Though I'm very selective of what I take with me as in holidays or back in school.

Someone actually damaged my book once at school, they snuck back into the classroom and drew in my book. I knew who it was because he gloated. He denied though when teachers asked and dropped it, saying it could easily come out.
It took me a month to get rid of the mark, probably would have been easier to have bough a new one but it was precious to me.
I got revenge, he never touched another of my books but the price of vengeance meant he found other ways to torment me, and after my revenge he always had 1-4 cronies near him.

I protect my manga like I do my comic books and figurines i have a storage unit thats inside so its at a constant temperature and i make sure that no damage or rats have gotten in every weekend also have a big room with nobody else in it to just sit and read quitely is nice lol. But I always take pictures of the storage rooms make sure no water damage no humidity damage on paper, check the trash on the ground level the nicer ones take more care of their units and you don't have to worry about rats. All my stuff is in seperate casings so that they don't touch and stick together in case some high humidity does come. And I always wear latex gloves my wife has sitting around so i dont get my finger marks on the pages while this is more for my comic books since they have more value then manga at the moment. I do have a very old edition of the journey west that i pay special attention to.
