Nothing particularly stupid, but a lot of things that were so painfully obvious that I would have thought it impossible for anyone to not realise.

Like last night, I was riding a train home from the city and as we come in to one of the stations I spotted a woman tugging and yanking on the door trying to get it to open. I had to explain to her that in order to get the door to open, you have to press the big green flashing button under the sign that says 'push button to open door'.

Or the time I was at the arcade and encountered an old woman who was trying to figure out why the machine wouldn't take her tickets, and I had to explain that those are what you get for playing the games to trade for prizes, not what actually starts the games.

EDIT: Actually, I just remembered a better one. I once had to explain to a girl (Ide say she was about 20) that 30 is less than 50.

There was one time that I stopped to get fuel and I wanted to pull some money out of my bank account, so I put the fuel in the tank and I go up to the counter and the conversation goes liek this:

Me: hi, number 2 and can I pull out $30
Girl: Sorry, the maximum cash out is $50
Me: Yeah, so can I get $30 on top of the fuel?
Girl: sorry, the most you can get is 50.
Me: So what, 50 dollars between the cash and the fuel?
Girl: No, not counting the fuel price, you can only get $50 cash.
Me: How many times does 30 go into 50?
Girl: I dont know...

Continued on like this for several minutes and in the end i still never got to withdraw my cash, just got fed up with her, paid with the cash I had in my wallet and went to the bank instead. I ended up writing to the company that owned the petrol station telling them that they should at least make sure their employee's know how to count before they employ them to handle peoples money. The sad part was she wasn't even a foreigner who I might be able to forgive, she was blonde though.

My baby cousin didn't understand the concept of hide and seek. I tried explaining it so many times, and it didn't work. He's 5 now, and he still doesn't understand it...
