Black mambas are fast, nervous, lethally venomous, and when threatened, highly aggressive.

It has a reputation for being aggressive and highly venomous: herpetologists have cited this species as both the world's deadliest and most aggressive, noting its tendency to attack without provocation.

Black mambas live in the savannas and rocky hills of southern and eastern Africa. They are Africa’s longest venomous snake, reaching up to 14 feet (4.5 meters) in length, although 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) is more the average. They are also among the fastest snakes in the world, slithering at speeds of up to 12.5 miles per hour (20 kilometers per hour).

It usually requires a group of people to kill it as it is very fast and agile, striking in all directions while a third of its body is 3–4 feet above the ground. Villagers will use rocks, big knives, saws, or big pieces of wood to either chop the snake, crush it, or kill it in some fashion. The black mamba will sometimes bite one or two of the villagers before being killed itself.

The only victims that do survive are the ones who are lucky enough to be bitten when black mamba antivenom is in stock and is quickly administered within the first 15-30 minutes, as antivenom administered beyond 30 minutes post-envenomation will usually keep the victim alive but depending on the nature of the bite, permanent paralysis from the shoulder down may occur if the bite was serious in nature or if the bite wasn't as serious as black mamba bites usually are, then the victim would make a full recovery without any problems. In very severe cases of envenomation, the victim may not live longer than 30 minutes, as the neurotoxins (dendrotoxins) of the black mamba are the most rapid-acting snake venom known. So it is crucial for antivenom to be administered rapidly.

Its bite delivers about 100-120 mg of venom on average, however it can deliver up to 400 mg of venom; 10 to 15 mg is deadly to a human adult.

completely agree, we forced our way to the top of the food chain with our tools, and nothing on earth kills more people than people.

Just look in the mirror.

There has never been a day in recorded history that a war wasn't going on someplace.

Humans are the only species unequivocally known to kill for fun, all others it's just speculation.

Technically they aren't. The Alligator has been around for about 200 million years, around the Mesozoic Era. That means they survived through the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic period.

I gotta give it to the box jellyfish. Apart from the fact that its venom can kill you before you even get to the shore, it's nearly invisible in the water.

I don't think so. You seem like some weedy goth boy.

Anyways, humans. For wild animals, I'd choose either one of the big cats or one of the poisonous snakes.

Cheetahs are timid, lightweight, and have such weak jaws that they have to suffocate their prey. They top out at 60mph, and in a race longer that 1/4 mile, will lose to a horse. Much less of a threat than lions or tigers.

Personally, I'd be more worried about some kind of snake. The big species can swallow you whole, a lot of the venomous ones are lightning-fast strikers (not that the big ones can't move fast when they have a mind to), and you can't grab them by the shoulders to keep their jaws away from you.

Orcas, coyotes, and wolves have all been observed to kill animals that were not threatening them, leaving the carcasses to rot. How do you explain that, if not a pleasure kill?

You can say that about the blue-ringed octopus and many sea snakes (they may not kill in two minutes, but you still won't make it to a hospital).
