Characters and Voice Actors

Louise Françoise le Blanc de la Vallière
Voiced by: Rie Kugimiya
Louise is the third daughter from the noble la Valliere family whose duchy lies in the north-eastern Tristain. Although she is the daughter of a famous noble family, she's called "Zero Louise" because she cannot use magic. However, her pride as an aristocrat is stronger than that of others, as is her haughtiness.

Saito Chevalier de Hiraga
Voiced by: Satoshi Hino
Suddenly by visited Louise and made into her familiar. He used to live an ordinary high-school life with no rewards or punishments, and no girlfriend. His hearty curiosity is both his strong point and his weak point.

Siesta
Voiced by: Yui Horie
Siesta is a maid at the academy and has a crush on Saito. Although knowing of the relationship between Saito and Louise and its accompanying sharp ups and downs, Siesta believes she can provide Saito a more gentle and caring love relationship.

Tabitha/Charlotte Helene Orléans de Gallia
Voiced by: Yuka Inokuchi
Tabitha is a quiet girl who is a classmate and the best friend of Kirche, as well as being Louise's classmate. Throughout the series she is almost always reading a book. Later it was revealed that the name Tabitha is an alias; she is in fact Charlotte, daughter of the King's murdered brother, and the rightful heir to the throne of Gallia. Her specialty is wind magic.

Henrietta de Tristain
Voiced by: Ayako Kawasumi
Henrietta is the Princess of Tristain. She is loved by her nationals and is also an old respected friend of Louise. She is very envious of Louise. Henrietta eventually succeeds the throne and becomes queen. She takes charge of Tristain's defense against the Albion invasion after the assassination of the Albion prince Wales with whom she was in love.

Tiffania Westwood
Voiced by: Mamiko Noto
Tiffania is a well endowed half-elf who Saito remembered as "the big-breasted Elf who saved his life". After her royal heritage is recognized by Henrietta, Tifania moved to the Academy, where she was ostracized at first due to her elven origin, but was later accepted with Saito's help. There is not much information about her magical abilities, but she is implied to be a void user like Louise. She is also a cousin of Henrietta, which gives her royal status.

Kirche Augusta Frederica von Anhalt Zerbst
Voiced by: Nanako Inoue
One of Louise's classmates. Kirche was born in Germania, and her specialty lies in fire magic. Her other name is "Kirche the ardent". Since the land her family owns borders the Valliere duchy, the two families have always been at odds with each other.

Irukuku
Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi
A mysterious girl who calls Tabatha "sister". She's tall, has great proportions, and looks like she could be Tabitha's mother or older sister. Though she has some discretion, she acts very childlike. For some reason she seems extremely interested in Saito.

First Impression?

Great start to a great series to this final season. Season 4 gets a bit more serious compared to the previous seasons as the storyline really picks up. Of course, there's still lover's quarrel between Saito and Louise lol. I also noticed that the soundtrack improved a bit especially in the battle scenes. Shame that this season is only 12 episodes thou. Anyways, I'll definitely be watching this.

If you are in North America, here on Crunchyroll.

While it is both unexpected and great that they got this one, it ended up with the most restrictive region licensing of anything announced thus far for this season. Even Ano Natsu de Matteru got North and South America.

I wonder if CR will license the previous seasons. Also, Zero no Tsukaima Kessakusen is a collection of the previous seasons as I've heard?

They may try, but it will be a tall order compared to what they have done before. I can't recall any series CR has licensed that had more than one prequel series, and now they have one that has three.

Yes, Zero no Tsukaima Kessakusen, which was aired in Fall 2011, was a collection of selected episodes from the previous three series. Prince of Tennis did something similar with The Prince of Tennis: Best Match, a collection from the OVA episodes.

I really still can't believe CR acquired this. Last season I was kinda disappointed that CR didn't get either Persona 4 or Shakugan no shana 3, but this time around CR really hit the ball hard.

Now I only wish I could read the light novels as well, won't anyone ever translate those?

I've just seen the first ep and here's my prognosis: kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~!!! I love Luise Saito's among my favs too. I know, I'd better stop acting like a fangirl...

I am so glad Cr got it.

Technically, 12 episodes is a full season.

The previous 3 series were all 12-13 episodes (13 for the first, 12 for the other two), so I don't see why you would have expected more.

Looking forward to the final season, but I might have to wait for it to finish airing so I don't have to wait a week to watch the next episode, like to marathon some good comedy animes.

This was one I would have preferred to marathon at the end of the season, but after waiting so long, I could wait no longer.

The first episode had a nice nostalgic feel to it. I am also encouraged that the character dynamics thus far seem to be more in tune with the direction the second series was headed, rather than the third, which seemed a bit of a backtrack.
