Ye, episode 11:

Well, the cavalry decides to take the fight to the dragon. They also have a plan:

It works wonderfully except this:

Next episode is the finale which will wrap EVERYTHING up of the series involving Familiar of Zero that started years ago

It's obvious if you think about it. There's 4 void mages in total, 1 dead, 2 already summoned familiars, hmm I wonder where's the last one...And if perchance she (come on there's like no chance for a he) shows up during the final ep and summons a familiar I wonder who will she get...I do wonder who it is though, but your guess is as good as mine at this point.

Also I can imagine the fighter strategy to work out well:

Saito: Hi army guys can I borrow a multi-million dollar fighter jet in order to save an alternate world with elves and stuff?
Airforce general: Yeah sure here you go lending out fully armed war machines is our standard policy, especially if they are trying to save alternate universes. Just hop in, no training needed obviously because we made them very teenager friendly...

In Saito's case, no training would be required.

I take it either you didn't see the previous series, or your forgot. As a Gandalfr he acquires the ability to use any weapon simply by touching it.

Actually, all four void mages are accounted for, and two are dead. Louise with her Explosion, with Saito playing the role of Gandalfr. Tiffania with her Memory Erasure, and Saito with the ability to feed power to a void mage. His Holiness with his Holy Power (or whatever they called it), with Julian with his ability to control beasts. And finally, I suspect you forgot about King Joseph with his super speed (Celerity?), with Myozotinum having the ability to use any magical item. If Joseph has already been replaced, his replacement would be an infant at this point (unless the power not only manifests, but is also determined at puberty, rather than birth).

Well, yes, WE know that, but what's the likelihood of the military understanding that? Saito may as well walk around San Francisco informing random passers-by that he is "Luuking for de nukelar wessels.."

Come to think of it, it likely would have been better for him to take Tiffania with him as well, since her memory erasure would be useful in stealing a fighter jet.

Stealing is the key word. I very much doubt that they were going to ask the military for a fighter jet, which means the miltary's understanding of Saito's ability would be moot.

Frankly, without the ability to open a World Doorway for a quick escape successfully stealing a fighter jet would be nigh impossible.

^ Ha yes you're right, shows how much attention I pay to this show.

Ah well would be interesting to see the final ep next week. Maybe we'll get a foreveralone ending for a harem show for once.

The final fucking episode! Yes, that's right. The episode that will wrap EVERYTHING up for The Familiar of Zero. L, even the episode title is The Familiar of Zero...

Saito's depressed after what happened last time.

Meanwhile...

Here comes our hero! Using the Solar Eclipse, Saito...

Taste some modern technology F-16 style you overgrown piece of shit:

Explosion!!!!!!

GG!

Happy Ending :)))

Despite the fast push of the story arc of the first 3 episodes and some fillers, this season concluded in a great way with the final episode being exceptional worthy. With that being said, The Familiar of Zero series is finally over.

9/10

Okay, yeah, now I know how Saito comes back. A day and four hours before the simulcast. Thanks a lot.

And I only just now realized the simulcast is tomorrow, not today, and so I'm not going to be able to watch it at the same time as the rest of you folks. I am sad.

Actually, just because I am pretty anal when it comes to this sort of thing, the fighter jet Saito pilots is almost certainly a Mitsubishi F-2, which is basically a heavily modified F-16 built by Mitsubishi for the JSDF. Here's a picture to show the strikingly similar colour scheme used:

Anyway back on topic, the ending was fairly decent, I pretty much expected JC Staff to butcher it but they seem to have delivered beyond my expectations, so kudos to them. Not an amazing series by any means but enjoyable enough and a decent conclusion to a fairly aged franchise.

Yes. I came back from making a pickup from a customer and was expecting to set down and watch the final episode as a reward, only to have my expectations crushed.

It is disappointing to have an episode delayed, but especially disappointing when it is the final one.

As I mentioned in the comments for the final episode, however, it could be worse. At least CR lets us know exactly when the episode is going to air, and apparently changed the countdown well before hand. Contrast this to Nico Nico (and by extension, Funimation), which has had multiple episode delays this season, usually announces them several hours after the episode was supposed to be posted (if at all), and rarely says when they will be posted when delayed. The last several episodes of Guilty Crown (including the final episode) were all delayed like this. They also delayed the final two episodes of Shana by a week.

I hope Nico Nico is not planning on emerging from beta for the Spring season, as they still have some bugs to work out.
