Just watched the first episode. Tbh, I liked it. It starts off somewhat slow but I know there's a deeper plot to this. There are random shots of a porcelain doll that Mei is holding throughout the episode that could be either a symbol or foreshadows something in the future. I love the artwork and music of this series so far especially the animation style being possibly the best I've seen so far this year. This does somewhat have similarity to Higurashi based on all the mystery atmosphere and murder themes. I am also very curious on what Mei was drawing up on that roof the whole time. Anyways, I'll definitely continue watching this and gj CR on getting the series.

Well, there's a very eerie atmosphere going on with the show which makes it particularly scary and creepy. The scenes cutting to porcelain (?) dolls sets a chilly feeling for me since I hate those things so much. Lots of hinting to be honest but the hints aren't so clear. There's definitely something occurring behind the scenes and we're not aware of it much like the protagonist. It's understandable in a sense why the classmates avoid Sakakibara. Mei also creates an offsetting mood.

Well, the animation is definitely very good and highly detail so nothing to complain about. The music creates an eerie mood and the sounds were very nice to have, i.e. the thundering. We'll need a few more episodes to understand the general premise of the show though.

Wasn`t scared one bit, I was mostly dissapointed by the first ep.
The op is too upbeat for a horror anime.
I`ll continue becaus I`m curious about what they`re hiding, except for Mei`s eye

It seemed pretty good to me. I am interested in seeing how it will develop.

Did it seem to mess up around 14 minutes and continue on with the conversation around the new kid, while showing random scenes around the school? Or was that intentional? O.o

There was what looked like a surprise yuri scene around 15 minutes. >.>

Show is utterly creepy though... loved it. It's such a run-down atmosphere too.

I liked it.. wasn't all that creepy but it did leave me wanting more.. lots of unanswered questions.
I really enjoy the visual style.. as if the whole town.. buildings & all... has one foot in the grave.
I can't wait to see where this is going!

Meh. This show isn't all that great, from first impressions.
It just doesn't seem particularly interesting.
It could easily turn it around.

This show started off really good to me. Can't wait for the next episode!

The anime is okay so far. It really seems like they're forcing the creepy horror element though compared to the manga.

I think its funny when people hate on a show (any show) after only one episode. It's like looking at a book and saying you hate it based on the first page.

I found the episode rather boring, but it does have the potential.

I'd say it could have done better with some comedy or a lighter element (a la Higurashi or Ghost Hunt). I'd say it felt too tense all along for me to care.

First impressions count alot ;-)
