Nice episode 2. Suspense, music, and plot begins to pick up. She's a pretty good artist imo but I wonder if there's any meaning to what she drew:

But what I really want to know is...

^What's under that damn eyepatch? Meh, cliffhanger. Inb4 Sharingan. But seriously, I think it might be related to that doll that strongly resembles Mei this episode.

I have a major problem with this Anime. I'll explain it in the spoiler section below. I am not really sure it should be there, because I think it is already spoiled which is the reason why I am posting this but I will put in there anyways to avoid people complaining.

Not exactly sure what ur trying to say. How do u know she's a ghost? Was that addressed in the first episodes? Anyways, that's just an assumption. She could be a ghost, a doll, a puppet, an alien, or some chick that with a million split personalities. I've not read the novel yet but I like how the show's being executed so far.

Oh, and Yukito Ayatsuji is the one that wrote the novel. Also, I'm not sure what u mean by:

Did the really feel the need to take all the suspense out of the show right from the beginning?

There's actually alot of suspense in this series just by the first 2 episodes. If u've read some of the comments in the videos, alot of people are curious on what happens next. In other words, it got alot of people hooked on the show because of the suspense.

The "First" in the thread title should be taken away, there will be opinions on every ep in the thread so :P
"Impressions on animetitle" is best.
------------

Anyways, on ep 2:

26 years ago, in a third-year classroom of a middle school, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, the charming girl was popular with her classmates. When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation. Then, in the spring of 1998, a boy named Sakakibara Kouichi transfers to that classroom, and he grows suspicious of the fearful atmosphere in that classroom. In particular, there is a beautiful, aloof girl named Mei Misaki who wears an eyepatch and is always alone drawing pictures.

Come on man... They couldn't make it any more obvious.

Mei Misaki and "Misaki" are two completely different people. Notice, they didn't give the first name?

They are somewhat related most likely but they are separate entities. It's not that obvious based on the first two episodes unless u somehow managed to decipher the entire plot without even reading the novel. I haven't read it so I wouldn't know if it was obvious or not.

She might be a ghost or reincarnation of the original "Misaki" but won't know tell the series finishing airing unless u've read the entire novel.

I have to go with the ghost camp. The other students don't seem to be aware of/see her. Still, I'll entertain other theories.

I don't agree that her being a ghost ruins the show/suspense. From the show description: "When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation." Don't you want to know why? It certainly isn't normal behavior. How about that beat up desk in the classroom? Why is class 3 special and requires a countermeasures officer? All of this seems to relate to Misaki. If Mei is a ghost, she's there for a reason.

Plus, why is Sakakibara's name related to death? We've seen one theory posted in this thread, but those events happen after this point in time in the anime. Why can Sakakibara see Mei? What's up with the dolls?

There's a lot going on in this show. The big reveal is not going to be that she's a ghost. And we haven't even gotten to the deaths yet.

All I can say is give this show a bit more of a chance.
