Welcome to the Hogwarts Library. Don't worry about keeping quiet because Madam Pince doesn't know how to quite work a computer.

This is the forum topic for any links you want to post about any good books, or Harry Potter related fanfiction.

I like The Fire Bringer by David Clement Davies I believe. Also his other book The Sight is good as well.

I just finished the entire Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini - it was good but it could have been great =/ sooo much potential

I bought the hobbit yesterday and I am thinking about reading the Game of Thrones books - anyone read?

I haven't read the Game of Thrones books, but the Inheritance Cycle is in my top ten book series. Though I think by the third and fourth books the author became a bit dull, and as did the books. The ending was a bit predictable, something I did not really like. The Artemis Fowl and Alex Rider series are also some of my favourites.

The plot was brilliant and he could have and should have continued it to 5, 6, or 7 installments but like you said it was almost as if he was not interested in writing it anymore and just ended up rushing it out. I mean how are you going to build up the idea of a villain over 5000 pages and then have the final 'epic' battle last 5 pages - so upsetting. I've never heard of Artemis Fowl or Alex Rider i'll have to look them up

I have the game of thrones and am about to read them after I finish another series I decided to start haah: which is actually pretty good so far it's called Exiles by: Melanie Rawn.

I have heard that The Game Of Thrones is actually not that great and the tv adaptions is better, which I have never heard my friends say in her life. But I'll read them all the same of course.

First time I read the Hobbit was in 3rd grae I believe and it is still one of my favorite books.

I heard the opposite! That the books are epic and the show is decent is what a bunch of my colleagues have said. I dunno from my own personal experience I feel that the books usually trump most video adaptations. I guess we'll both find out! Do you watch the show its awesomeeee

I have watched a couple episodes and it looked really good but I wanted to read the books first, like I always do, then watch more. Unfortunately I keep getting distracted with other book as usual ( I am notorious at such things, distraction being my most common transgression). Have you read The Name of the Wind?
