Happy to have the option of 1080p content, but content on my Roku now seems to stutter as it never buffers enough.

My point: Why is there even premium? idc about the quality but what I was trying to get across was: 'Why for certain people only[And I'm referring to EVERYTHING] When new episodes come out I watch it somewhere else, the only time I watch anime is on CR is on my ipod because I can skip the ads. Life isn't fair, but you should be fair with your costumers.

You watch it somewhere else...care to elaborate? Is that somewhere else legal? Do you even know or care about that? CR runs things legit and has for some time. Without putting any detail in your criticism, it's near impossible to know what you are doing and comparing CR to..

Why is there premium? For CR, likely because it causes direct revenue and funding for licensing. It pays for bandwidth. It secures a known monthly revenue approximation for CR's budget for them to go to their bandwidth supplier/CDN to contract out based when they average out a premium customer. For the customer, premium has no ads, something you admit to skipping.

You don't care about quality? That's fine. Others though, do. More quality means more bandwidth which means CR incurs higher costs. Premium likely covers that. There is rather significant difference in quality at 720p over SD.

Why for certain people only? Well, because they pay more than you.

Life isn't fair but you expect CR to be? Wait...you admit you don' t watch/bypass/skip ads, so you aren't even an ad viewing customer contributing to CR's bottom line (CR is a business), but you want to be treated the same as those who pay a monthly fee? Really? You do the bare minimum but want the same as a premium member? Wow. And you don't specify where you get the same CR content from.

CR *is fair* to their customers. Those who pay, get more and get more options. Fairly. Legally. Do your activities contribute back to the artists and companies producing the anime, or don't you know or care about that?

Considering that anime does not air in 1080p on any Japanese stations and is only available through blu ray, these are pretty clearly just upscales.

Pretty sure that most of the buffering causes the download-server from crunchyroll. So please Crunchyroll get some BETTER server, in the middle of Europe you have to buffer too long to watch something smoothly : (
( and I'am sure it's not my internet).

I have a question... Are all the episodes from Bleach being broadcasted in 1080p or just the latest ones?

They've said only series where there's the material for it. The early Bleach episodes were produced in DVD Standard Definition before the Blu-Ray era ~ streaming in 1080p won't be any improvement if it was produced in 480p SD or 480p anamorphic.

Indeed, 720p wouldn't be any improvement, which is why episode one was already limited to SD and 480p, with no 720p option.

The upgrade in resolution of the original source material happened either with the start of season 13 or 14, so the episodes before the "gap" will still be SD and 480p.

I have a 130mbit internet connection from Cox ( would be 170mbit but I haven't upgraded my modem yet). 1080p skips for me, crunchyroll needs to get more bandwidth on their end to support these high resolution streams. T_T
