I see th in in the same boat... I get hmmm less than average games going to apply to college for computer programming. The one thing i tend not to do is apply myself and work hard. Im more on the lazy side x( and im a smart kid (outsmarted parants since they have a 6 year master degree xD) and my friends are cool with it. (yeah sure I don't get tons of girls like some other guys do in my class/school but I have my fair share) but to people in life now seems like sex, drugs, partying, and other shit are much cooler than what you enjoy doing on your own.

Well, I've always seen the two terms as being different altogether. To me, a geek has always been someone who has interests that differ from normality. A nerd on the other hand, to me, has always been someone that dedicates themselves to school so far that they develop social ineptitude and in many cases a sense of self-righteous narcissism because of their intelligence. So, I've always felt that nerd was a derogatory term to the point that the first time my girlfriend called me one, I refused to speak to her for the entire day, she was obviously confused by this. I prefer to just think of myself as a person of above average intelligence, primarily due to the fact that the only tests I have ever studied for was my SATs and one Physics final for a Physics for Game Programming class and that I never read any of my text books. I only have the ability to absorb lectures like a sponge. Other than that, I don't study or anything of the sort. Back to the point, in my book geek is okay, nerd is very bad.

I see nothing wrong with it. If that's who you are, then so be it.
I have more respect for people who are comfortable in their own skin than those trying to put on a persona and act like someone the aren't.
