I've searched over the years a few times and seen a few responses to the question but not great ones from what I found. I may get the same answers as they did or slightly different but it doesn't hurt to ask. I want actual good answers to this and nothing less and who better to ask then people that actually like anime themselves.

So time to ask, How do you create an anime that looks like series such as Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Ect. or even better looking ones such as Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai / I Don't Have Many Friends or Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko? What programs, voice editing/manipulating and such do I actually need to create it? I want to know whats the best things I can get to do it and how if possible. I don't care if it takes time to learn or anything of the sort as long as it gives me the ability to create an actual anime series, not cartoons.

Well, in all honesty, all you'd need would be art skill and a way to stick frames into a video. Heck, a copy of Vegas, Art skill, and a mic could get you started. as for voice actors, we have the internet, just say you need VA's and they will come.

the best? I have no idea, this would be the kinda think you'd ask a company, not a forum

Problem is what are the right programs/equipment to use and yeah voice actors would be easy to get with the internet and all but its also not like people can just go and ask an actual company up front and stuff. Money is an easy way to create one since you could just hire people and they do the work for you but its just not the same as creating one yourself. Oh and whats Vegas? Is it any good at all?

This. The only thing different is art style.

In a sense yeah but some people would say otherwise. I actually would agree that cartoons and anime are on a completely different level from each other now a days but even still, its hard to find something that can actually make a decent cartoon such as Avatar the Last Airbender.

Animation can be done a number of ways. Could be hand drawn and colored by hand. These days you could go for something extremely simple as Anime Studio where you could set the skeleton and you wouldn't have to worry too much about movement so long as you have the models for your characters. It's not that bad of a program, but a finished product reminds me too much of just a flash video. Other good programs to use are Maya and Shade. Both are 3d cg software, but it'd still be possible to animate in 2d with them. However, with those two, you'd need experience as it could be extremely daunting to just jump on in.

Unfortunately, they are expensive. Shade's the cheapest of the two standing at 350, professional at 750. Maya's the hefty one of the two programs as the cheapest you could get it is probably around 1600 as an upgrade if you have a previous version but often enough it's closer to it's MSRP of 3500. Granted, it's rather expensive, but you also get what you pay for. Now if you want something free, there's always Blender.

Aside form 3d cg programs, you could also just use a regular photo editing program and create each cel by hand via a graphics tablet if you have one, or by the mouse. It takes a while, but that's just another way to go by animation.

When it comes to Anime Studio its hard to tell if its worth even getting since all the examples shown around the net are not near a anime quality but as for Maya, Shade and Blender they do look to be pretty good softwares for 3D without a doubt. Only thing is its hard to know what the 2D looks like since I wasn't able to find a example after a quick search. They are something to look into for sure but it seems there are easier programs that are only for 2D out there that people seem to be unaware of (me included). I'll look more into these.

Just start out with flash.
And head over to the Newgrounds forum. You'll get a much better response to this question there.

Flash is okay if you actually take alot of time and work with it but from what I know you'd never get the same quality as an actual anime. Then again I never used it. Have a few ideas how I could already from what I seen when I searched it but it may take an actual while to get that kinda quality. I'll check that out too and that out also.

Well so far we have a few options but it be better to see the best examples that each had to offer in creating anime since its hard to actually see any of that kinda work.
Suggested programs
Sony Vegas - Voice editing program
Adobe Flash
Anime Studio
Blender
Shade
Maya
So any other programs or suggestions?
