"House kills SOPA" must mean the bill is gone now. I hope they never bring it up again. Darn government keeps trying to limit our freedom! I understand some things, but keeping the internet as it has been for over 20 years is just fine. Old people should not decide how the internet is governed. If anything they should make a bill that creates security jobs to destroy sites that try to take over people's computers. Maybe hire some hackers who can make the internet more secured. That would be much better. People shouldn't have to worry about being attacked while on their computer. Who ever is caught should have a hand cut off like they do in China.

Why are you trying to limit the freedoms avaliable to hackers? According to you, people should be allowed to pirate creative works that others have worked hard to make but those who work on codes should be jailed?

People shouldn't have to worry about their works being pirated.

No, I said those who HACK people to purposely destroy someone's property (AKA Computer) should be heavily punished. Piracy is bad, but SOPA is even worse. According to SOPA if say Sony claimed X site is displaying their product without permission it will be closed. Now let us say this site was a google search term. Bam Google is gone. Everyone would be in fear to post anything to their site.

Enjoy this site and youtube and hulu and google and yahoo and many many more sites then. If you want this bill to pass you should stop visiting any third-party site since this bill would CLOSE them all. You would be able to visit sites such as Sony, Microsoft, Funimation, etc. and their forums would be closed because ANY leak of another manufacture's product = immediate closure.

like mentioned SOPA is still in the works, just gonna tweaked, and normal politics is start outrageous just to be extreme and then get passed a "milder" one that you originally wanted to pass and rest of the people are crying in joy for "comprimising" to the point initially planned.

Lets see how this turns out

PIPA is also still in the works.

edited after i saw SOPA was only delayed

Very good news. But 'PIPA' the Senate's version of SOPA is still being considered. Obama is in re-election mode so it should fail. Good. Freedom before capitalism.

just to answer people about pirating.

Musicians don't make much money from records, but as they have always made money from concerts, merchandise etc.

people pushing for these online reforms are from record labels, now record labels are a relative new thing created because there was a demand for a service to get the mediums out to the masses.
These companies are no longer needed, atleast not to the extent they have worked these past decades exploiting artists.

Now with the online distribution artist can do almost everything themselves and get all the profits, and at the same time still get money for their concerts as they always have.

Labels don't want their gravytrain to end and will go to any means to keep the status quoe.

About all the music i listen to these days are not through any labels and i couldn't care less if all the labels just went bankrupt and be forgotten as another "situational solution" in history.

Yeah, stop these retarded bills.
These = SOPA & PIPA.

Pirating isn`t all bad.
In my country it`s the pirates that buys the most music, becaus they know where to buy it online. Trackitdown, beatport, soundcloud, iStore.

Man, I've grown to hate Congress with a passion. It isn't any better than the last one. They had time to work on how to help recover the economy which is MORE important, but instead waste the country's time on this bill. Even Vice President Biden is against it--seriously, look it up on YouTube (whether you're Republican or Democrat or whatever).

Tbh, the censoring of the internet is bound to happen at some point, imo. The bill just means it's gonna come earlier than people expected.
